We surmised in response to the recent announcement from NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus has been hired by fans of the NHL's Florida Panthers to negotiate lower ticket prices that Rosenhaus actually has been hired by the Panthers to pretend to be representing the fans.
And we've learned via some of the journalist tools that we didn't learn in journalism school because we couldn't afford the tuition and because we believe that scholarships are a tool of the devil that, indeed, it's a marketing gimmick.
It's not a bad one, actually. A team like the Panthers could simply reduce its ticket prices via a press release, or a team like the Panthers could make it interesting, hiring someone like Rosenhaus to pretend to represent the fans. Then, the Panthers will pretend to bow to his demands after extended negotiations.
And the Panthers will generate plenty of interest in their brand. Indeed, many of you didn't realize the Florida Panthers were still in the NHL.
As for Drew, at least this time around he's actually pretending to represent real people.
NFL teams should hire him quietly, and then he could represent clients and try to get them to sign with the clubs for less money.
Hey! All of last night's anti-NHL/Canada posts disappeared. Now we'll all have to go back to ignoring the NHL again.
