With the addition of Terrell Owens and the increased use of the no huddle offense, Buffalo is trying to liven things up in 2009.
The team won't turn into the Jim Kelly Bills with the K-Gun offense overnight, but Chris Brown of BuffaloBills.com believes they could use the no huddle up to half the time this season.
"It was an emphasis for us in our offseason and our OTAs," Jauron said recently.
The plan makes a lot of sense considering Buffalo's personnel.
They have an untested offensive line, with no starters returning to play the same position they were in last season. The no huddle could cover up problems in pass protection with a quick-strike attack.
They have an intelligent young quarterback in Trent Edwards who should be able to handle the mental challenges of the offense.
Most importantly, they finally have some weapons to throw to: T.O., Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish, and running back Fred Jackson are all versatile receivers.
It remains to be seen how successful the Bills are in a difficult AFC East, but they should be more interesting to watch.
ive always said bills are a wild card this year never know what you are going to get from them.
Great.....so now Owens can only bitch at Edwards half the time!
Wild Card? More like a joker. Starts out in the pack, but never gets in the real game.
Using the no huddle will just get them to a 3 and out quicker.
Buffalo Hogan likes the No Huddle idea; we definelty have the personnel to make it work.
Dont like that we just told everyone we are gonna do it. I dont remember Parcells advertising the Wild cat before training camp?
Did you just say that fragile fred was a weapon? Really?
Article completely misses the point. The No Huddle eliminates having TO in the huddle berating the QB. They will have TO split out on the wide side of the field as far away from the QB as possible. Juaron will try his best to make it work but look for more sideline fights between TO and the rest of the team and coaching staff.
lol.
now they can go 3 and out in record setting time!
How much success can you have with a concept invented by Sam Wyche?
Of course it won;t be like the K-Gun. My money is on them looking like they are in a K-hole most of the time
it's really because she-ho has bad breath.
and just a shout out from the other 27 teams in the league and everyone playing the 'Bills" this year! "thanks for the heads up".
I think that is a great idea, I enjoy seeing the no huddle offense.

AFC EAST will be one of the closest divisons again this year, look for the bills to sneak into 2nd place behind the Pats, hopefully it will be enough for a wildcard spot.
As for the no huddle Trent Edwards is a smart guy with a young O-line that is athletic, the exception being a question of Langston Walker's ability to stay healthy and keep up with the tempo. They now have two very good recievers and with the running back tandem of Lynch and Jackson they should prove to be a vastly improved unit from last year. If Schoebel stays healthy and Maybin is able to be productive the rest of the DEF should benefit from the pressure up front.
Overall the Bills could be a surprise team this year (10-6), unless T.O. decides to be T.O. and the whole thing comes apart.
I think the no huddle still might have a place in the NFL but I think this is just another sign of how desperate the Bills coaching staff/management seems this year. A Bills wildcard appearance would pretty much be my super bowl this year.
Love the new site design by the way.

Actually, then you should say Buffalo is like a box of chocolates...
Translation: no one wants to listen to TO complain in the huddle.
You mean Jauron won't merely be acting as Me-O's personal foot-stool and as$-wiper all season long?
He's actually game-planning!?!? Wow...
Florio - thanks for selling out (I would have too so I wouldn't sweat that too much) and now I get a popup add every 5th story that I click on.
I have always wondered why teams don't use the no huddle more often. If I were a head coach, I would have my team prepared to run a no huddle on situations like a third and short.....depending where they are on the field. If you're on the opposing side of the field and you're just short of the first, I'd tell the offense to get off their ass, get to the line and run a quick play. Have the play already selected before the game so the qb doesn't have to call out assignments under center. QB calls the play, runs a two snap count and boom, roasted!
they're like a box of chocolates!
The Bills are going to open some eyes this year. I know that most dont follow them but the past few years they have been really close and having a stronger, stouter interior OL, which killed them last year and having TO and Rhodes along with Marshawn, Lee Evans, and Freddy Jackson, the O will be much improved.
Watch out AFC!!
The Bills will win the division this year!!!
This all depends on not taking penalties in between plays
This is a sign of desperatioin. Jauron knows his job is on the line and a no-huddle offense reflects this desperation. Jauron is putting all the chips on the table just to get to the playoffs

the bills will be decent as long as they dont have too many injuries. pretty good starters, not a lot of depth anywhere. i see them in the 8-10 win range. maybin will be a bust
my 2 cents
