League Says There's No Mass Production Of Favre Jerseys, Yet

Recently, WCCO-TV in Minneapolis showed images of a Vikings jersey bearing Brett Favre’s name and number, which was not yet for sale.

The implication, apparently, was that many such jerseys already are lurking in back rooms and warehouses in the Twin Cities.

Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, however, reports that no mass production of Favre jerseys has occurred.

Yet.

“We wait until there is a player contract that has
been approved, then we begin mass producing them,” NFL spokesman
Brian McCarthy told Jensen via e-mail.  “But nothing has transpired from here.”

But Jensen reports that “it is believed” Reebok has prepared “screens” of a Vikings jersey with Favre’s name and number, which would then provide the basis for the mass production.

Haven’t seen a legacy unravel so far, so fast since Clinton started molesting his teen employees at the Office.

If there’s anything more pathetic than an aging football player who doesn’t know when to hang up the Jersey, it’s got to be any man over the age of 14 who’s too pathetic to know how pathetic it is to buy and wear the jersey of a patheic aging football player who doesn’t know when to hang up the Jersey.
Was everyone able to follow me on that? If so, up next on the Convoluted Network – the Pre-taped Call-In Show:

I guess this all depends on what there definition of mass is. 50,000 or 1,000,000. All that matters is there was one on TV therefore they are in production.

Viking fans will grab onto just about any flash of hope they can get in order to win a Super Bowl. But what the hell if he still has it in him to go a whole season then I say go for it. It is gonna make Aaron Rodgers whole year to show up Brett Favre and prove that Ted Thompson made the right move.

For authenticity ‘Brent’s’ jersey should come with an AARP patch on each shoulder. He would make a great spokesperson for AARP (American Association of Retired People) since he’s already retired twice.

I may have to buy one to wipe my ass with.

Now there is a lot of hate out there for Mr. Favre(far-v). But there are alot of quarterback situations out there that are in much worse condition than if Brett comes to the vikings. He is a legend, and while I can consent as a Redskin fan I would’ve died if Aikman came to us after leaving the Cowboys, he makes the Vikings a better team. He is a hall of famer. He has such a hard time of letting go because he still plays the game with that childhood joy that most of us here left on the playground many years ago. He may have vengance in his heart for the Pack, but I will admit I will tune into any Vikings game to watch a grizzled hero of the gridiron putting the doubters to shame as he adds another chapter, though somewhat of a shadow over his legacy, of celebrating touchdown passes and wins.

Alpheratz, nice post. Someone needs to warn Brett about taking a leak in the Minneapolis airport, you never know when hypocritical Republican Senators are waiting in a bathroom stall to blow him.
As for the White House, I guess all of that Clinton “molestation” stuff was overshadowed by GOP Senator Mark Foley stalking his male teenage pages for sex, huh?
As for Favre, let’s hope he plays for the Vikes. He’ll press, force balls, and create a bunch of turnovers with his boneheaded decision-making.

I heard #4 Jerseys make good shamwows. You can clean up hooker blood, vomit, whine, coffee, cola, the drano your son tried to drink last night.

I guess I just don’t understand this whole thing. Take away a couple of huge Vikings homers I don’t see many piping up on this whole situation. More and more its the haters saying the fans are bragging…maybe i missed a post where the vikings fans went off or something, but all in all they don’t seem to care one way or the other. IMHO anyway.

Lets just say Favre was coming to your team, and your a die hard fan, woudnt you buy the jerseys too? Just saying.

  12. jusford says: Jul 3, 2009 1:07 AM

Why buy a jersey with a guy’s name on it that’s only going to be there a year. Oh well, gives me something to laugh about.

  13. Yak says: Jul 3, 2009 1:14 AM

Canadianfootballfan – Favre is coming to my team and I am a die hard fan and I would not wear (or buy) a Favre jersey if someone paid me.
Hype – You’re right. The majority of Vikings fan either do not care that he is coming (which means they do not believe in him) or do not want him here.
Mark my words, we will (could have won) win the division with or with out Favre. All he does is maybe let us win a playoff game. Which is nice, except winning 1 game does not get us the Superbowl victory we all want. Childress is just going backwards…

  14. apackerfan says: Jul 3, 2009 4:53 AM

If you gotta have a Favre Viking jersey you can go to NFL.com and order one; if you want to pay $100-200 for it. There were a lot of so-called Favre Viking jerseys for sale on ebay but they have been removed.

  15. Bob Nelson says: Jul 3, 2009 9:02 AM

How much will the bootleg jerseys be worth when Favre does NOT sign wih the vikings?

  16. JimmySmith says: Jul 3, 2009 9:03 AM

How is it that the Vikings think they can sell a $200 jersey for a one year player when they can’t even sell out their first playoff game in a bunch of years?
Are Biqueen fans that stupid? Oh, I just answered my own question. They are about as dumb as their head coach and considering his sheer level of stupidity, that is really saying something.

  17. PurpleNGold says: Jul 3, 2009 11:12 AM

    two hundred dollars?
too much for the magic bus.
    Vikes win anyway.

    Don’t waste your money
Favre will be a joke this year
    And next year as well

  19. MyVersionTheTruth says: Jul 4, 2009 12:21 AM

Lots of haters on here that is the reason not too many Viking fans are on here because we get tired of all of the hating and whining. I am a glutton for punishment I guess also I like to keep track of all the people running off at the mouth now so that I can see them eat crow later. Save room Jimmy and others there will be plenty to go around when this season starts.
