UFL Starting Quarterbacks Will Earn At Least $60,000 . . . Per Year

Jason La Canfora of NFL.com, who opened this specific Pandora’s Box the other day, now seems to be mildly annoyed by the fact that details regarding the UFL’s player payroll structure are now being publicly reported and discussed.

(But at least La Canfora worked the phrase “full monty” into his latest item.)

Per La Canfora, the base pay for starting quarterbacks will be $60,000 — or $10,000 per game.

And the maximum compensation for starting quarterbacks under consideration is $100,000.

As previously reported (in part by La Canfora and in part by us), the standard pay will be $35,000, with kickers, punters, and long snappers making only $25,000.

It’s decent money, but the more important reality here is that playing in the UFL gives the starting quarterbacks live game repetitions, which will help these guys escape the UFL and get back to the NFL.

    It looks like Michael Vick will be making between $60-100K next year. Marcus Vick, however, will still be making $7.50/hour at Taco Bell.

    I would def rather be third string in the NFL (talking to you, Losman) and make over 300K, than play in this garbage and make 60K!

    Poor guys have to play football six times a year…and ONLY get paid $60,000! Not to mention the pressure they will be under playing in front of NFL scouts looking to make them play 16 games if they play well!

    Is six games a year enough to showcase NFL calibre talent?

    60 grand for the likes of JP Losman, Ken Dorsey, brook Bollinger, and Tim Ratay?
    The UFL is getting robbed.
    UFL= Utterly Friggin’ Laughable

    Decent money? I hope NBC is only paying you $35k, Florio, and then launching 300 lb men at you. The UFL is going to be D2 football if that is all they’re paying.

    Stop calling Florio a sell-out. He now has a stable and reliable server, that will not crash. He’s still going to post insiders information.
    He had a successful site and he’s being rewarded. Accept that.
