With the back-to-back PFT posts on Thursday that: (1) 2008 first-round defensive end/linebacker Vernon Gholston is struggling; and (2) 2008 big-money free-agent defensive end/linebacker Calvin Pace has been suspended for the first four games of the coming season, we suddenly had an idea for our end-of-week SportingNews.com column.
These developments serve only to increase the heat on the man who picked Gholston, and who paid Pace.
G.M. Mike Tannenbaum, who avoided a pink slip after a season that was sufficiently bad to get coach Eric Mangini fired, is now firmly on the hot seat. And it just got even hotter.
