The New York Jets continue to mine the list of available free agents as they try to bolster their roster depth through a series of low-key transactions.
And the Jets announced today that they have signed unrestricted free agent offensive lineman Nevin McCaskill.
McCaskill is a 6'4", 300-pounder who recently was cut loose by the Green Bay Packers.
The Jets recently waived offensive guard Mike Fladell after he failed his physical, so McCaskill fills that roster spot.
He spent time on the Packers' active roster for three games last season following a stint on the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad.
McCaskill was signed as a free agent by the Buffalo Bills two years ago, spending one season on the Bills' practice squad.
McCaskill, 24, played college football at Hampton.
CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!
Good for Nevin!
