Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth’s reckless driving case could be resolved as soon as Thursday morning.

According to the Tennessean, Haynesworth made a surprise appearance in court this week and was instructed by a circuit court judge to return to court Thursday at 9:00 a.m. in order to enter a plea.

Per the report, a court official said that Haynesworth was probably trying to avoid any publicity regarding his plea.

In this case, Haynesworth was also cited for driving a vehicle with expired registration.

According to police reports, Haynesworth was speeding in his Ferrari when he tried to pass another car and bumped it into a concrete barrier.

Haynesworth had already been placed on supervised probation for a separate traffic case where he was reportedly driving over 100 mph in Tennessee.

However, the former Tennessee Titans star isn’t being charged with a probation violation because court officials weren’t privy to the new charges during a month-long probationary period.

In an unrelated Haynesworth matter, there hasn’t been any recent update on the NFL’s investigation into the Titans’ tampering allegations against the Redskins.

Haynesworth signed a contract with a $100 million maximum value a few hours into the free agency signing period.
