Report: Kazemi Fired The Gun

The folks at Joe Buck’s favorite web site are reporting that “preliminary test results” reveal that Sahel “Jenny” Kazemi fired the gun that killed former Titans and Ravens quarterback Steve McNair, and then herself.

Dr. Feng Li, an assistant Tennessee medical examiner who conducted the autopsies, made the conclusion based on various factors, including an analysis of gun shot residue.

Nashville police are expected to release new evidence at a 3:45 p.m. EDT press conference.  Check back then for more information.

This could just mean that a possible 3rd party used Kazemi’s hand to pull the trigger for one shot (probably at close range for accuracy) after both were already dead.
It’ll be interesting to see or hear all the forensic evidence they may have.

Murder-suicide, case closed. We now return you to your regularly scheduled Brett Favre.

    Why? that’s the question!

  4. andrew61083 says: Jul 8, 2009 2:41 PM

Pretty straight forward. Where is the “a professional killer may have planted the gunshot residue on Kazemi’s hand” angle?

  5. Marty says: Jul 8, 2009 2:43 PM

Wow, Im sorry Mike, I know you were hoping for another twist to this. So does this end it?

That’ll teach you not to make promises you don’t plan on keeping. Ouch.

Hmm, I got it! Norfleet contacted a Voodoo Shaman to use demons to brainwash her and make her go nuts and kill McNair and herself… Children of the Corn style!
I find it hilarious that Florio and all his crackpot followers kept doubting evidence so clear that a 9yr old could have ruled it a murder-suicide without even knowing what gunshot residue is. But noooo, there was an incriminating rap song, and a predated myspace posting, and he threw a phone at her, and she couldn’t be that accurate unless she was a navy seal in a previous life, and so on.
Way to go NBC, you picked yourself a winner.

What would help a great deal to fill in the blanks about what this girl was thinking……is to FIND OUT THE TRUTH about McNair’s devorce plans

  9. Big Stretch says: Jul 8, 2009 2:49 PM

    Wow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
who would have thought that the young spurned sex toy of a millionaire would be crazy enough to kill her lover then herself ??? That stuff never happens.
Florio you almost had me believing that some clandestine evil organization was responsible for this crime, turns out it was just some young unstable girl. ( i know it’s hard to believe considering there are so few of those around)

Add it all together, and murder/suicide was the the most obvious conclusion all along. It was just a matter of confirming it via the testing. No sign of forced entry, no robbery, and an ex-boyfriend who was too chatty and too dumb to have masterminded this. What a tragic tale.

I’m still a bit confused how McNair’s buddy could walk right by his McNair’s body with the body of Kazemi right in front of him and not notice anything, especially with blood spatter everywhere.

Now will this site ask, “who pushed her finger on the trigger.”

  15. JohnComp12 says: Jul 8, 2009 3:01 PM

So she went crazy when she found out he was gonna leave her is what seems like the conclusion is. I can bet too the ex-boyfriend instigated this girl to go crazy and the fact she was on drugs(who knows which) pretty much indicates this girl acted out of passion and confusion and was probably scared as can be.. Like ive said from the beginning regardless of how it happened its a really sad outcome.

  16. KTrane says: Jul 8, 2009 3:03 PM

Kobe got caught up with crazy woman. Then Dirk. Now McNair. Bottom line: they want your money, and if you don’t give it to them, they have the potential to go crazy. Just hope they aren’t crazy enough to go and buy a gun. My question: What are gun laws in Ten? Do you have to 18 or 21 to LEGALLY purchase a handgun?

Still no one has addressed how neighbors didn’t hear 5 gunshots at 1:30am.
I think this is a pretty open-shut case of murder-suicide, but I’m just baffled at why no news outlet has even addressed this angle of nobody hearing gunshots in the middle of the night. From a condo.

  20. snoopysnoopy says: Jul 8, 2009 3:08 PM

    Bull crap. I’ll ask again:
How come not a single person heard thoses shots?

  21. BernardPollardIsAnAss says: Jul 8, 2009 3:10 PM

And for those wondering about his intentions for divorcing his wife… one thing can be said for certain. A divorce does not get “finalized” in two weeks time if the wife to be divorced does not actually know it is even coming, especially when the husband doing the divorcing is a millionaire. Assuming what the wife said is accurate, and assuming what the girlfriend’s family said about his plan was accurate, it’s pretty clear that he was stringing this girl along. So sad. What a waste of a life. All over a little strange. Idiot.

We don’t know that McNair told Kazemi he was going to leave her. That is a wild guess on our parts.
But what we do know to be 100% true is …
    - Shortly after McNair and Kazemi start dating, JEALOUS EX posts rap song threatening to shoot execution-style and older man who took his girfriend
    - Kazemi’s family confirms JEALOUS EX was constantly trying to get back together with the girl, and would do “anything” to get her back
    - Kazemi herself had to call 911 on JEALOUS EX because he went ape-shorts and threw a phone at her face. Kazemi herself was CALM on the call, hardly the raging lunatic who busts caps in her loved one’s temples
    - Hours after the DUI arrest on July 2nd, JEALOUS EX emailed the media to rat out who he called “Golden Boy McNair” for DUI and cheating on his wife
    - The same day, JEALOUS EX’S associate posted on MySpace that McNair would be gone in ’09 and “R.I.P.” Kazemi … two days before the murders
    - JEALOUS EX “says” he arranged a gun purchase for Kazemi that day. Kazemi is not around to confirm or deny this
    - JEALOUS EX called Kazemi many times in the next two days, even having the balls to go to McNair’s condo the day of the murders
    - Kazemi’s family and friends confirm she was ecstatic about her life and her relationship with McNair
    - McNair was at a restaurant the night before and the staff overheard young woman telling him “My boyfriend is going to murder you”
    - McNair and Kazemi turn up dead, both shot execution-style like a gang killing, as eerily predicted in JEALOUS EX’S gangsta rap, friend’s MySpace page, just two days after he sent hateful email about McNair to media
    - JEALOUS EX admits he was at McNair’s condo that day and that he at least “helped” buy the gun

  27. Sigildark says: Jul 8, 2009 3:28 PM

One would assume that there was enough residue on her hands to conclude that she fired all 5 shots and not just simply one. Case closed i guess.
Talk about shortsighted vision on her part. Getting dumped is never a reason to take your own life, regardless of the circumstances. Life always goes on.

  28. Zaggs says: Jul 8, 2009 3:29 PM

Oh god people are still chasing the 3rd person angle?
Dee if someone fired the gun AFTER Kazemi was dead, how did she die in the first place? If she wasn’t dead how the hell did she simply let someone put a gun to her head and kill her without a truggle of any sort?
Then there is also blood splatter to take into account and there would most likely be a shadow where a mysterious 3rd person would have been.
Floorboy’s grassy knoll shooter was really in the book depository.

  32. JoeSchmoe says: Jul 8, 2009 3:38 PM

Does it make you an “expert” killer (are there really any “expert killers” out there really???) to have an idea such as: “hey, if I wanted to ‘off’ both of these fools and get away with it, all I gotta do is shoot them and fire at least one shot with the hand of one of the corpses”? You can see that kind of stuff unfold on Murder She Wrote, Matlock, Magnum PI, or anywhere a lowly wannabe rapper/gangster might be watching crime drama TV over the course of his young life. I could have probably formulated that evil plan when I was 7 years old. I hope Barney Fife doesn’t close this case just yet. Due diligence Nashville PD!!! Do some!!!

  33. titan_fan says: Jul 8, 2009 3:40 PM

Wow, Slim Shady did a damn fine job making this look like a murder-suicide…

  34. JoeSchmoe says: Jul 8, 2009 3:42 PM

And at a very minimum, you couple the thoughts laid out in his rap song, with the fact that he obviously had enough vindictive blood in his veins to write to the local paper to try and expose McNair, and was with the female victim RIGHT after the DUI, and the fact that if someone’s rapping about violence, they probably “could” actually have some affiliation to it, and thus helped her obtain a gun… if indeed it wasn’t simply his in the first place… then there’s more to this.
At a minimum, I got money on the fact that this wannabe rapper was at least an accomplice. Probably more.

  35. JoeSchmoe says: Jul 8, 2009 3:49 PM

SeaOtter, what’s to say that the girl didn’t let her ex-boyfriend into the place that she had a key to? She was clearly distraught by the fact that McNair ditched her at the DUI, so much so that she went and called on this punk thug ex to help her with the car. I could totally see her looking to him for assistance and advice after that incident. And said punk also wrote about killing cheating older men. Just because he seems too stupid to pull it off doesn’t mean he didn’t or couldn’t have.
I can totally see a scenario where he talked her into taking him with her up to his place so he could “have a little chat” with Steve McNair about how he dogged out his little homegirl, and he brought a strap with him, possibly without her knowledge. And what’s to say that from there, he pulled it out (McNair could have easily been condescending to some little punk thug) and killed McNair, and then the girl flips out and he winds up killing her too out of fear that she’ll rat him out? She very well could have said “I hate you” in the midst of seeing McNair shot too and sent him into the rage that did her in.
If you don’t think this is possible, you’ve lived a very sheltered life. In the hood, much worse has been done for much less.

  36. Mike K says: Jul 8, 2009 3:58 PM

So now the Perez Hilton of football (hopefully) closes the story with a whimper.
He will not apologize to the cop or to the ex-boyfriend that he so readily disparaged and insinuated to have had involvement. He doesn’t have the class or the nuts.
I’m surprised that this article isn’t longer like the others. You know, adding something questioning where the cop was in the time leading to McNair’s return home. Conjuring up some possibility that it was the cop who drove Sahel to the condo to confront Steve. Come on Florio! There are still straws to grasp at!!!

The difference KTrane, is that Kobe raped the so-called ‘crazy woman’ and then settled with her for several million dollars (an ultimately undisclosed amount) so that he could avoid hard prison time. The guy was as guilty as OJ, Micheal Jackson and Ray Lewis. The difference was that they used their money to get them out of their respective messes. McNair never got the chance.

wbugsays: There is a test to find out if someone actually fired a gun or not. There is a GSR hand swabbing test, and all that is actually saying is that they came into contact with a gun or into contact with a person who has recently fired a gun. GSR is transfurable from one person to another. Now the question is did the crimelab do the components test, this test needs to be done in order to actually say that this woman fired the gun. There is exactly 3 components in GSR residue. New federal law says that 2 components out of 3 have to be present. You can test positive for GSR even if you have never been near a gun, alot of makeup and household products or even some types of steering wheel covers can cause a false positive. Women especially need to have the second test done on them, and if the second test was not done, then the police should never have been able to close this case. And for all you people out there that like to make smart remarks and comment on something or someone you know nothing about, dont send it my way I have had enough, I posted this for my dead sister who was wrongfully accused of pulling a trigger on herself. The police just want to shut the cases and save there money and there time instead of finding out the real truth. Especially when your sisters husband was in the same room, and he was a correctional officer, and firearms instructor. And it also doesnt hurt that he gained about $300.000.00, but the comment from the so called sheriff of this county was that isnt enough money to kill someone. THE CASE SHOULD NOT BE CLOSED YET!
