The Arizona Cardinals now have six of their 2009 draft picks under contract.
The team announced today that safety Rashad Johnson, a third-round selection and the 95th name called in the draft, has agreed to terms.
The Cardinals signed him to a three-year deal. Many teams insist on third-round picks signing four-year contracts, which essentially eliminates the players’ eligibility for restricted free agency in his fourth NFL season.
The Cardinals have only two unsigned picks left: first-round running back Beanie Wells and second-round linebacker Cody Brown.
To make room for Johnson, the Cardinals cut receiver Shane Morales.
rashad…..let’s repeat
I hope Beanie doesn’t hold out in order to get more money, lets get this offense in rythm for august!
