The Lions continued the exorcism of their 0-16 season, releasing linebacker Alex Lewis Thursday.
The special teamer was drafted by Matt Millen in 2004 in the fifth round out of Wisconsin. Lewis occasionally started as the team's strong side linebacker, but he never held the job for long during his tenure.
Lewis, 28, was due $1 million in 2009, which is rather expensive for a strict special teams role.
It would not be a surprise if he quickly found a new team, at least for training camp.

Who?
"It would not be a surprise if he quickly found a team to go to training camp with."
Is that a polite way of saying that 'he sucks'?
Don't look now, but Mahew and Lewand have quietly shed the majority of Millen guys.
Shhh..we don't want the rest of the NFL to know the Lion's are getting better. That would incite panic.
