Donald Thomas still not sure when he'll return

Dolphins guard Donald Thomas suffered a serious foot injury early in the 2008 season, and he missed the rest of it.

Then, not long ago, he tore a pectoral muscle.

Now, he's still not sure he'll be ready for training camp.

"I'm focusing on being ready to go for the season," Thomas recently told the Hartford Courant, via the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.  "But I'm on the outside looking in again, and I don't like this, so I'm doing everything I can to get back on the field and play to my potential."

Though the Fins were fine without him, they would likely be even better if they had the benefit of the guy who won a spot on the opening-day roster.

HHHMMMM Suspect.... unless this guy is related to Derrick Thomas... or Zach Thomas,,, or heather Thomas for that matter, then I say we cut him. If we dont he is so accident /injury prone he may end up cutting himself,,,, and Id hate to see anyone have to get stitches.

Dolphinatic - it's only his second injury in his career.... on a fourth round pick who was performing well enough to beat out first-rounders. you don't cut that kind of talent.

kind of a shame to see him sidelined still. just our luck...

he was a 6th round pick not a 4th that was Shawn Murphy. And what 1st rounders did he beat out? With that said cutting him sounds ridiculous

Wow, I can't believe how dumb some of the people are on these posts. Thank you ceed for correcting the Texas fan, Donald Thomas was a sixth round pick and this is only the second injury of his career. With that said Thomas should be ready by day one to reclaim the starting spot he earned over a fourth round pick last offseason. This guy is an animal. Parcells is the best judge of talent in the entire league and if he feels this guy is a starter, and potentially a future pro bowler ( as he was earlier quoted saying) then this guy should certainly NOT be cut. Only an idiot would think so...(Dolphinatic)
