PFTV does the NFC West over/under

We've finally made it.  It was a long journey, nearly as challenging at climbing Mount Rainier.

Eight divisions in eight weeks.  Three minutes or so devoted to each.  A semi-organized format for talking about their prospects in 2009.

The last of the over/under bunch?  The NFC West.  Once again in our new NBC video player.  (Brad Childress thinks it's "kick-ass," but we've got concerns about the height of the bar he applies to that particular adjective.)

Ooh Mike, getting feisty! I think you hurt Joe's feeligns when you told him to be quiet

I must say, "Porn- Business of Pleasure" with hooker heels is slightly a more appealing ad banner than the fat chicks in underwear at our old digs... Movin on up.

    "Be Quiet" aaahahahah!

I disagree with your Cardinals assessment only because the division is garbage. And, like you, the whole world thinks(knows?) we got lucky and caught lightning in a bottle so I doubt the teams we play will be circling us on the calendar. So the Cardinals will win only 8, and the Seahawks will win 7? The 9'ers will have the same record as the Cardinals and win the division? "Child Please"

By default of a garbage division, I see 9-10 wins. You forget without Clancy there to sabotage the defense, the guys will be flying around again. And without Haley, the Cards will revert back to using the no-huddle more. If the guy wasn't so worried about getting a head coaching job, we could have played the whole second half of the SB using the hurry-up. The middle of the field was open THE ENTIRE DAMN GAME but Haley choked.

I can conceive 11 wins if the Cards show up to play. The games we could/probably will lose are-

    Sep. 27 INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
Oct. 25 at New York Giants
    Nov. 8 at Chicago Bears
    Nov. 29 at Tennessee Titans

leaving room for one or two surprise losses, perhaps in Seattle on Oct. 18. or Carolina at home on Nov. 1.

You also forget, we don't play in a single cold weather game outdoors. Maybe Chicago on Nov. 8th, but I've already got us losing that one.

Or Warner gets hurt and we finish with 4 wins, you know, whatever.

He should have said "Be silent, peon!" That would have gotten the same reaction, I think...

Bucking the trend of calling the Cards champs before the season, I like it... Hope you are right...

Perfect, Mike! Please continue to lower expectations for the Cardinals. Hopefully the media, the oddsmakers, and other NFL teams will listen to you. This team played miserably through the regular season and still went to the Super Bowl last year. Whisenhunt has his act together. What's your over/under on him?

I hope I didn't get censored and that you're just taking a while to post my comment. I mean you are the ones who have a porn pleasure ad on your website, not me. And I've definately said worse than hooker heels.

What Superbowl-losing team comes back with any type of success the following year?

Cards will have a miserable hangover like everyone else...you can almost bank on it.
Few NFL trends are more reliable.

Niners will surprise some people and fight the Seahawks for the division.

RAWR!!! Haha, love it Florio. Keep giving Joe the Randy Johnson treatment.... "and don't talk back to me, alright?"

The video doesn't play on Firefox. After 50 seconds the video reloads, and starts over.

Your evaluation of the Cardinals is in error because your evaluation of their coaches and, particularly, Anquan Boldin is in error.

Anquan Boldin was playing with face, hip and shoulder injuries and, while still tough to cover and bring down, was not his old self. There is no other receiver in the NFL you can run the offense through. DEFENSES OPENLY ADMIT HE IS THE WIDE RECEIVER THAT IS HARDEST TO BRING DOWN. Add to this, the emergence of Early Doucet in mini-camp and a true, dynamic power back Beanie Wells, a top 3 back on almost every draft board, who will be paired up with one-cut runner Tim Hightower, who had a rough rookie campaign coming from Richmond. Toughness was added with Anthony Becht and former Steeler Dan Kreider.

Haley got conservative in the second halves of playoff games, and he's moved around the league a lot for a reason. Besides, Kurt called most of the pass plays in some of the games. And Ken Whisenhunt was the play-caller for most of their 8-8 performance the year before and has won a Super Bowl as a coordinator.

The Cardinals had the worst pass defense last year (36 TDs), so Clancy had to go (even though they improved as DRC moved into the starting line, picking off Ryan and Delhomme and batting down two Roethlisberger passes). He blitzed too much and presented an undisciplined group every week as they let the Eagles and Falcons back into games in the second halves and we know how the pass defense played at the end of the Super Bowl. Fact is, they lost Antonio Smith to the Texans but they had drafted his replacement a year earlier in Calais Campbell and added CB Bryant McFadden from the Steelers and OLB Cody Brown in the draft.

To be the best, you have to be the best, while the Rams and 49ers shuffled safeties, they did little to stop Warner's aerial attack. After watching Fitzgerald have a record-breaking run in the playoffs, sometimes without Boldin, the teams drafted a collective one corner, Bradley Fletcher for the Rams. The only corner the 49ers added was Dre Bly, 32, who admittedly is younger than Harris. and that was after Walt Harris tore his ACL. Jim Mora's corners who got scorched by Fitz worse than any team last year, added just Ken Lucas, who will be 31 by the Super Bowl. Better pass rushes than these thought they could rattle Warner last year and weren't successful. KURT WARNER IS UNDEFEATED IN REGULATION AGAINST THE 49ERS. I guess you are banking on him getting hurt.

The biggest question marks in the division are the Rams run defense, the Seahawks pass defense, and the Seahawks run game. The 49ers will make the Wild Card, but to compete with the Cardinals, they need to name a starting quarterback first (Alex Smith is the best choice). The Cardinals will coast to the playoffs.

Wow, that was a long ass way of saying "you are full of it, Florio."

I read the last line, thats all you really need to say.
