On the same day the Raiders said "no thanks" to one of their own draft picks, they also cut a recent free agent acquisition.
Former Cowboys safety Keith Davis was released Monday according to the team's transaction page. (Thanks to Jerry McDonald for finding this. He must refresh the page daily because the Raiders don't announce the moves. Even the league's website doesn't have it yet.)
Davis was primarily a special teams player. He followed Bill Parcells from Dallas to Miami before a return to trip to the Cowboys in 2008. He signed with Oakland in May.
Perhaps the move will help quiet talk that former top ten pick Michael Huff is on the roster bubble.

Michael Huff sucks. Can't believe I ever wanted the Chiefs to pick him.
Gregg, There is such a thing as RSS feeds. :) You can register for them through software like Google Reader (google.com/reader) and through the magical world of the internet, they just show up. You don't even have to visit the website over and over to get your updates, only if you want to comment or read other's comments. :)
That's what I do with ProFootballTalk.com. That's how I got here today!
bbq, you can still have him. Just send over a tackling dummy and we'll be happy.
Huff will be switched to CB. Watch. If he still can't cover, and drops INT's, watch him be a Lion, fast.
If Huff is off the bubble, he's still a third stringer playing special teams.
Actually he's probably behind three guys, Branch, Eugene, and Mitchell.

I think the dummy would tackle better than Huff. Whomever decided he was the best pick on the board was huffing that day...
I happen to know that Huff wont make it through the pre-season.
The problem has been the Raiders cant get anything for the alligator armed, Art Shell of a turd Draft choice.
