It's really getting annoying that the media acts like JaMarcus Russell is in a QB competition with Jeff Garcia. There's no competition -- it's JaMarcus' job. The team is not going to bench it's No. 1 overall pick after one season in which he had a 90+ QB rating over the last 8 games for a 40-year-old journeyman with a career .500 record who in no way fits the organization's offensive philosophy.
This supposed QB controversy is an example of the media CREATING the news. Pure and simple.
P.S.-- I think it's equally unfair to affix the borderline bust label to Brady Quinn.

Rise to the challenge, Mike--it's only Sportingnews (where half the bloggers are better than the featured writers, which tells you all you really need to know).

Somebody should tell Curran that Bernard Pollard isn't a defensive end, he's a safety. I understand if a part-time sports writer like Florio makes that mistake, or a talentless nutsack like Aaron Wilson... but Curran?

If it's any consolation, Mike - at least your "ten story lines" don't require 10 separate web hits for me at work.
