Twice last season Marshall was told he was fine. Upon securing a second opinion, Marshall eventually had surgery in March.
And because of the procedure and ensuing rehab, which caused him to miss the entire 2009 offseason, the Broncos have asked him to report for training camp three days early, on July 27 instead of July 30, according to the Denver Post.
Though the 72-hour window will pass in an instant in the grand scheme of things, Marshall easily could perceive the move as adding indignity to insult to injury.
Marshall skipped a mandatory minicamp several weeks ago, but the financial consequences of a training-camp holdout would be much stiffer. And the Broncos have raised the stakes by moving the target for his arrival from July 30 to July 27.
Maybe they want his distraction to get out of the way before the other players arrive. What the Broncos should do is do whatever they can to get people to think he is a good guy, then trade him. Marshall for Edwards or Marshall for Bowe and 3rd, plenty of options. The only option which would be bad, is to have him on the team this year.
Heres a thought if Brandon and Aquin both hate their teams. Why not swop both players in some kind of trade?! You can't get these players to produce 100% if they hate their team!
I'm usually against players who pull crap with their teams and whine about a trade. But I'm actually on Marshall's side this time around. The medical staff on that team failed him and when you're a football player your entire potential to earn is tied up in your health. If I were him, I'd feel that the team betrayed me and I could never trust that medical staff again. If I were the Broncos, I'd either fire the entire medical staff and bring in a new group, or I'd trade Marshall. You burned that bridge, and you burned it bad.
Has anyone ever had a worse offseason than the Broncos had this year?
What's next? Ryan Clady up for grabs?
I believe the term "craw" comes from "crawlspace" which is a small area that a person has to crawl through...which when used in the context of "sticking in his craw" it actually means sticking in his ass....
I could be wrong though.

How could he be fined for those three days, if they're asking him to come in early? Seems to me the required report date is July 30th, and anything prior to that is a courtesy.., not a requirement. I don't see how Marshall could be penalized for not coming in early to meet with the medical team. A unit that seems to be as qualified for their jobs, as Clevelands 'staph removal' crew is at theirs.
Jay Cutler
food is stored in the craw prior to digestion. sometimes it gets stuck there.
maybe they want to find out how a grown man can bebested by a mcdonald's bag.

If a PFT story has little meat to it, few facts or suporrt and is mostly speculation i.e. "Broncos sticking it to Brandon?" you can bet it will not be written by Alper or Wilson or the rest. Stories like this are most often written by the man who was just rewarded with a partnership with NBC. The world is a funny place.
Florio- you do not have to impress NBC with the volume of your work, just the quality.
The Broncows need to trade him while his value is still up!!! He will become a problem this season!!!
I hate to be one of 'those guys', but wow! I wonder whose side this writer is on?
The information is largely true, but this sure isn't the 'No Spin Zone'.
Nobody "moved the target date". He is injured. Injured players are supposed to report three days earlier. Marshall has yet to even let the Broncos see his hip, let alone evaluate his progress.
Also, everybody got that letter. All players received a letter specifying when to report.
