Minnesota media bows to Lord Favre

With anticipation building for Brett Favre’s formal arrival in Minnesota, the local media is making preparations for the event.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune has launched a “Brett Favre Page,” devoted to the man who is widely expected to play quarterback for the local team in 2009.

Though many of you already are sick of all the talk about Favre, the fact remains that his addition to the defending NFC North champions makes them even better equipped to compete in a conference that is as wide open as any conference ever has been.

  1. He doesn’t make them better. I will bet you the equivalent of all the money you have made from QotF that they miss the playoffs once they sign Farve.

  2. I still have confidence in the vikings ability to screw this situation up and Favre not play for the likes of them.
Bus Cook is too wiley and smart to allow it.

  3. What is Favre’s intentions here in wanting to play for the Vikings? Does he want to prove to everyone that he still has what it takes or does he just want a chance to play against the Packers?
There is no doubt that Favre was a great QB and a future Hall of Famer, but right now everyone just sees him as a drama queen.

  4. Does anyone know…did Brett file his retirement papers (for the second time)? Does he have to file for re-instatement?

  5. Bob Nelson is not so sure anymore. It used to be “Favre will never play for the Vikings.” Now, it’s “I still have confidence…” What will the story be on July 30th?

  7. “his addition to the defending NFC North champions makes them even better equipped to compete”
No, it doesn’t. That’s the aggravating thing about the Favre drama. He’s not an elite quarterback anymore. He stunk it up for years before 2007, where he had a brief surge in quality of play that still would not have been enough to get the Packers in the playoffs if not for the defense playing very well and the addition of Ryan Grant. Then Favre threw that crucial INT in the NFC Championship that allowed the Giants to win. He was no better in 2008, and would have wound up throwing more INTs than TDs if not for the 6 TD game against the Cardinals.
The last time Favre performed like an elite QB, we were getting ready to invade Iraq.

  8. Florio: “Minnesota media bows to Lord Favre”
This is as opposed to the Olbermann-ization of any Favre news employed by Florio himself. A couple of days ago Brett Favre said he wanted to make sure his shoulder was sound before commiting to the Vikings, and yet, somehow, UNBELIEVEABLY, Florio opined that that was a “ploy for more money” ??? What ??? Good lord Florio, it was the EXACT OPPOSITE of that – essentially saying he WASN’T going to the Vikings “just” for the money. Geez, what a stretch Florio.
No wonder Florio loves Ubermoron – he employs the exact same “news” tactics ole Keef does. Take a story, and then twist it to fit whatever ridiculous angle you wish to portray it as. Now I see why Florio joined up with PMS-NBC.
What’s next Florio, are you gonna blame Favre for Steve McNair’s death too ?

  9. Rockstar, when the Jets released Favre, he came off the reserve/retired list and became a free agent. He doesn’t have to request reinstatement.

  10. It really is a shame he is going to play for them (I’ve accepted the fact) and now there is alot of money being made by people in no way in connection with the NFL. The Favre parody shirts are flying off the virtual shelves right now, all because this guy can’t say when enough truely is enough. 11. “the fact remains that his addition to the defending NFC North champions makes them even better equipped to compete”
I admit I’ve never been a Favre fan, but seriously, this statement may have been true of the Favre of ten years ago, maybe. How you can say this about him now with a straight face, I don’t know. Maybe it’s denial.

  12. The only thing I can compare this to is a few years ago when Clemens came out of retirement to join (and save) the Yankees, the NY media were on their knees–they all had “pages” too. Pretty funny how that turned out.
Will the announcer sound like this when Lord Favre waves from Zygi’s suite during the first pre-season home game against KC?

  13. While I think the Vikings will win the division with Favre and contend for the NFC Championship with the Giants/Panthers/Saints, If they are destined to go 2-14, I hope those two wins are against Green Bay unless they play New England…. Then I would demand destiny to give them 3-13.. šŸ™‚

  14. Stop your crying puker fans. You didn’t want Farve and now we have him. Just reading through most of the posts here smells of extreme fear by the puker, bears and lions fans. They know Farve is a real threat to beat them and all their dissing him won’t help. The look your faces after Farve and the Vikings beat you will be priceless.

  15. Minnesota fans are joyous about the arrival of LORD FAVRE. When the alternatives are Toodles and Sage, the move makes PERFECT sense.

    Thank you

  20. Since Delaware is now legal for sports betting, is there an opening line on how many more INTs he will have vs. TDs? That’s as close as a sure bet as you can get. Vikes go 9-7 as the geriatric jackass starts hot and his arm dies just past the midway point. If the Williams wall finally gets suspended, make it 6-10. Vikes are buying a very old and beat up lemon. On the bright side, they will finally be rid of Chillyball.

  21. I ve never seen a bunch of people acting like jilted schoolgirls as you Packer fans.
The only one that needs to be happy out of all of this is Favre!!
It’s his career and I’m sorry to tell you, he doesn’t care what you all think. Nor should he.
Get over it. He’s done in Green Bay because Teddy Teabag had to have his power trip.
Besides, you Have Rodgers. Move on.
With free angency, this will be a common occurence, get used to it.

  22. Florio writes: “Minnesota media bows to Lord Favre”
So one paper, the Minneapolis Star Tribune has a page devoted to a Hall of Fame QB that might help lead the team to the promised land. That means the entire Minnesota media, print, radio and internet has bowed to Favre?
You have to love the “Lord” title you have given him. Much like “the Hack” title will soon be applied when your name appears.

  23. When will you people get it through your heads. Favre does not have to be an “elite” quarterback. All he is required to do is 1) handoff, 2) make the read and hit the hot receiver or 3) throw it away. Favre does not have to “make” plays. I was Tarvaris Jackson’s biggest fan and I still think he has much ability. But Tarvaris is progressing too slowly. Favre has many reasons for coming back and that’s fine because the bottom line is he still wants to win and we all know what a competitor he is and that he loathes losing-that’s fine with me. This is a hand in a glove situation. There are 3 factors- Favre staying healthy, if the Vikings stay healthy as a team and they (Favre and all) become a cohesive unit-take it for what it is and could become………..a very fun year!

  24. you guys are nuts of course it makes the Vikings better like come on Jackson and Sage I`d take Favre any day over those 2. Being a Colts fan I got to see Sage last year and believe me you want Favre over him. A INT 30 yards down field is better then a fumble behind the line any day.
Plus he`s not gonna pass as much this year he`s just gonna hand off to Peterson and here and there a dump pass. Of couse he`s gonna throw some long balls but not as much as in NY, and it`s not like the other teams in the Division did a whole lot of improving in the off season. Ok so the Bears go Cutler still no one for him to throw to. The Lions did well in the draft but don`t expect Stafford to be this years Matt Ryan. The Packers well they did nothing except try to learn a new Defense. So that`s gonna take a bit.

  25. In this case with the Minneapolis Star Tribune actually devoting a FART page we will award PFT special dispensation due to unforseen windage.
However, Days Without a Fart/Favre Meter will hold at ZERO

PS – who gives a flying old fart/favre in space anyway?

  26. “the fact remains that his addition to the defending NFC North champions makes them even better equipped to compete in a conference that is as wide open as any conference ever has been.”
WTH, Florio? Favre has been solely responsible for his last two teams not making it to the promised land. He throws INTs by the bushel, especially in the playoffs or late in the season. I hope this all ends badly and the Vikes go 4-12…definitely a possibility with Chilly running the team.

  27. I just don’t see Favre winning a conference championship game. Wouldn’t that be the whole point, to make it to the Super Bowl? By the time Jan. roles around, Favre will be ready for some soup and a blanky…
Please fix the ‘having to login in every freakin’ time to post a comment’ problem…

  28. Can we please keep politics out of here!? Don’t ruin the only good thing in my web-life with more BS politics.
    Fark Republicans, fark Democrats.

  29. “Minnesota media bows to Lord Favre” I swear on a stack of pancake, on first read I thought it said “blows”.

  30. God, this is getting so brutal. How would anyone really believe that Favre would not better the Vikings? Jackson can barely read the paper let alone a D-fense? Yes he is old, but he’s going to have a team that is going to do all of the work for him this time…He just needs to call out where they need to go! This team is like a QB’s wet dream! I hope Favre plays so he’s Division title can be stuffed down you’re throat preventing you to say another ignorant/unintellectual word. It’d also be great if he cleated your fingers off so I don;t have to sort through your bullshit on this site. Yes, the media is getting old. And Yes, Favre’s flip-flops (not to be confused with flippay floppays) are comparable to John Kerry. But you are ignorant or just plain stupid to say that he would not better the Vikings if he is healthy.

  31. Re: Snarky Snide Sniper
    Thanks !
    ————————————
I’m a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan (since I was 6 years old back in 1965) and I don’t want to see him go to the Vikings any more than any other Packer fan does.
That said, first and foremost Favre wanted to play in Green Bay last year, and presumably this year as well, but Satan, I mean Ted Thompson, decided he didn’t want the 2007 MVP runner-up back last year – however idiotic that may seem. Sure, Favre retired, but SO WHAT, people are acting like Favre is the first sports athlete that’s ever unretired before.
Ya gotta love Florio (hypocrite to the max) for complaining about all the Favre, ummm, “stories” in the media all the time, and yet at the same time he himself is posting everything Favre seemingly does from the minute he gets up in the morning until the minute he goes to sleep, as “news”.
There’s no hypocrite, quite like a liberal hypocrite ! Bravo Ubermoron, I mean, Florio.

  32. Devils Advocate:
That fart in space comment hasn’t been funny now for the last 50 times you typed it.
You must be 12 years old because the word fart is actually funny to you.

  33. As a Packer fan, it does suck to see Favre go to the hated rival. As far as being scared? Not one bit.
It’s the idea of him simply playing for the Queens…whether he goes 16-0 or 0-16…Favre in purple is enough to make Pack fans a little angry and some sad.
Last laugh will be for Packer fans though when Pharv blows the Vikes season up like he did the Jets last year. Start looking for employment, Chilly…you’re out after this year…Favre will go home to MS and that will be it.

  34. All Hail LORD FARVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May he smite the Packers and lay them low to grovel in their despair and anguish over his return and triumph!!!!
Green Bay, the home of the thin skinned…….
    See you in week 2.

  35. ProudVet, all Favre cares about is beating the Packers. If the Vikings go 2-14, with both victories being against Green Bay, he’ll be happy with that and will finally go away.

  36. Thanks for the news Florio keep it comming I’m going to go check out that web page dedicated to Brett Favre becomming a Minnesota Viking right now. Brett Favre Minnesota Vikings starting Quarterback that has a nice ring to it. Thanks for all the posts Fudge Packer fans it makes my heart glad to see you sally’s get your panties all in a bunch everytime this issue comes up. Keep up the Favre/ Vikings hate I for one love it!

Well, I hate to pop your Viking fans delusions, but from the outside, the Packer fans have every reason to be upset..it’s not that he’s playing for the Vikes, its the lying over and over again that has EVERYONE pissed off ..and my I remind you that there are 31 teams with fans that think this is a joke..not just Packer fans. As far as Packer fans acting like jilted school girls, you Viking fans are acting like screaming teeny-boopers who just saw Elvis or the Beatles for the first time. I’am not a Packer or a Vike fan, (or any fan of your division) however, I will say this..no matter what favre does for your second rate team..to NFL fans all over the world, he will always first and foremost be known as a Packer, he will be in the hall of fame as a Packer, and I can gassure you he will come back someday (when the idiots running the Pack are gone) and FINALLY retire as a Packer..he knows his legend is safe with the real NFL fans, no matter what foolhardy thing he does this year.

  38. To NagaSwan:
I agree fully. As a pathetic Lions fan I’m so happy that “King Interception” will once again soon be throwing up lobs to intercept again. Good lord the Vikings are dumb. Favre has only one goal; Beat the Packers. And if the Packers get to play against Favre, it isn’t going to happen. The Vikings are arresting the development of the QB’s who will have to take over after this one year experiment and the Lions are finally moving forward…..hahahaha!!! Can’t wait to see this idiot play again. It’s funny to watch him throw the ball up for grabs. And for all you idiots that believe this makes the Vikings a Superbowl contender, I feel sorry for your optimism. This doesn’t even put them in competing terms with teams like the Patriots, etc. My team might not be good (to put it mildly) but at least no Lions’ fans have belief in a 40 year old has-been leading us to the promised land….hahaha…. Thank you Minnesota. The Lions now officially have a chance to beat you. We wouldn’t have been as likely to without Brent Fart throwing up picks to keep us in the game.

  40. The saddest part is that the Jets coach got fired because of Favre’s performance last year and it is likely to happen again.
I wanted Klink to sign another 5 year contract extension so we wouldn’t even have to worry about the Vikings being any good but Favre is going to punch his one way ticket out of town.

  41. People seem to forget the Vikings went 10-6 with Gus freaking Frerotte as their QB.

    ————
When will you get through your head that Favre doesn’t operate that way? He doesn’t allow anyone, especially a coach to handcuff him or play it safe, that’s why he has all the INT’s.
For those who say this offense is a QB’s wet dream, then why couldn’t T-Joke soak his panties? Favre still needs to have someone to throw the ball to. All he has is a #2 WR masquerading as a #1 and an unproven rookie who seems to have a SEVERE drug…er I mean “dehydration” problem. It would be his worst WR core by far! He doesn’t even have a 1000 yd receiver on that motley crew, so he better be handing off all the time!

I think that was the first post you actually called them the Vikings and not the BiQueens

  46. Packers fans feathers are ruffled they feel betrayed oh too bad this is big city business favre doesnt care about betraying you he hates ted thompson so much. How worried thompson must be just a year ago he blocked any possible trade to the vikings or any other team in the division. His knees were shaking with the idea of playing against brett twice a year. So hell yea if i were brett id say gimme 5 mill and i’ll come play for you and show this old fool what he lost just once even if he doesnt get to that superbowl run it’d be worth it. I cant wait til Favre, Adrian, Percy, Chester, and Bernard run through the division at 6-0 and all your worst fears are imagined.
    PEACE FROM THE TC

  47. Who ever heard of Donald Driver or Greg Jennings before Favre came along?
Berrian had 945 yards last year and 20.1 ypc.
Shiancoe is the one that will benefit most from Favre being there.
Harvin has got to scare people “dehydration” problem or not.
Remember the names Sidney Rice and Aundrae Allison. There is your next potential Driver.
This may be his “worst” recieving CORPS .
But, he’s never had a back like ALL DAY either.
He hasn’t had a combo like AP and CT.
Mix in Harvin in the backfield at times, I wouldn’t want to face that offense.
I find it humorous that Jimmy Smith and Bob Nelson and all these other jokes for Packer fans are on here talking smack after thier team is coming off a 6-10 season.
Sorry guys, it isn’t your birthright to have a winning season every year.
Aside from 07, your team has done crap since McCarthy got there.
07 was the abberation, not the rule.
Good luck getting to.500. you’ll ne nothing but something in the rearview of the Bears and Vikings.
I’m also tired of hearing about 7 losses by 4 points or less.
If your QB could lead a game winning drive or your defense could hold a lead…….
    IF,If. If,

  48. What’s funny is how all the Queenie fan’s point to how they were 10-6 last year and can only get better with Favre. What they fail to remember is that they won 4-5 games by blatant gifts from the referees. Some of those gifts the NFL even admitted were blown calls. Of course if the Vikings weren’t hanging on by a thread with regards to the score in those games and were actually ahead by more than a few points…

  49. Quit your crying what!!
I’m so sick of this crap!
Vikings got gifts packers got screwed.
I’m pretty sure that the Packers have never lost a game in thier entire exsitence.
It was either the refs screwed them, they gave the game away, injuries, or a car was coming.
Bad calls, turnovers and injuries are part of the game. get over it.
    Minnesota 10-6
    GB 6-10
I’d get used to seeing that type of difference if I were you.
Why can’t Rodgers lead a game winning drive?
    Whats your answer for that?
Oh yeah its all on the defense. BS!
Get ready for 7 wins Max all you packer fans.

  50. Why does everybody assume the Vikings are so close to being a great team? They have no offensive line from C to RT, Bernard Berrian is their best receiver and he is only a deep threat. Their TEs are blockers, not receivers. Peterson is obviously a stud and Taylor is a good backup, but out of the 11 offensive starters they have 2 studs (Peterson and Hutchinson), 2 solid players (Berrian and McKinnie), 1 average guy (Kliensasser), and 4 unknowns (whoever ends up starting at C, RG and RT along with Sidney Rice.) 5 unknowns if you add in Percy Harvin.
Defensively, they have a great D-Line, below average LBs and an average secondary that underachieves every year. The run defense grades out so well because nobody runs on them, it’s too easy to throw on them.
The Vikings made the playoffs on a gift pass interference call against the Lions that the NFL ruled a mistake. If they lost that game, the Bears would have gone to the playoffs instead.
The formula that the Vikings use to get out to a hot start and choke every year is a strong running game to eat up time of possesion and keep the Williams sisters rested and limit turnovers. You think Favre’s ego will allow him to hand off 40 times a game? You think he’s just going to stop throwing it for grabs?
Vikings fans are the biggest fair-weather fans in the NFL, and even when they made it to the playoffs they needed an extension to sell the game out. Go ahead and rant and rave about the Super Bowl, but come week 10 when they start stumbling the bandwagon will clear faster than the Love Boat when the cops showed up.

  51. @RagnartheViqueen,
Your whole “never had a back like AP” mantra is awfully misguided considering that Favre had Ahman Green during his stint in Green Bay. In fact, the same Ahman Green’s two best years are still better than Peterson’s last two years, and he could actually pass block and catch passes out of the backfield.

    for VICODINS…?”
    “Don’t quit your day job.”
    *********
I think he did quit his day job. He posted the exact moronic statement on another post.
He’s about as clever as “Devil’s Advocate.”

Good thing you guys caught me, because I was JUST about to (go quit my day job, that is).
I mean, I came THIS CLOSE to just letting my whole stable go free, to go work the streets solo.
But hey, on the plus side, your mothers would have been home early tonight, for once…(maybe even in time for a dinner that didn’t JUST consist of some Haitian refugee’s DNA…)
FYI: They, too, lend themselves well to double-posts (just like my wisecracks).
And next time you Stuart Smalley-led horn-blowing purple fairies of the North quote me, at least get my whole joke, okay?
You forgot to include the line:
“You know how easy it is for elderly people to get all confused about such things…”
Alright, now you can all get back to your whole little “We’re good enough, we’re smart enough, and doggone it–people like us!” routine.
(Even though I should probably let you in on a little secret here…you’re VIKINGS fans–NO ONE likes you…)

  53. It’s ironic that after the Packer – Viking the PACKERS have a bye week,,,,or will it be “bye bye Bret?”

  54. Let me start by saying that I am a Favre fan, but I was a Packer fan since I started being able to really understand football. Once Favre came to Green Bay I never thought that to like one you would have to hate the other, but that seems to be the way most of you have let the media spin this thing. There have been 3 periods of Green Bay Football Lambeau Lombardi Favre. The sad thing about that is that all 3 were either forced out ( Lambeau Favre) or retired and decided to return and had to go somewhere else ( Lombardi Favre). I don’t like the way last offseason played out. Like any DIVORCE the kids (fans) want everybody to get along and do what’s best for the team, and in my opinion that would have been to let Favre play QB for the Pack. If you don’t think that was best and Rodgers deserved his shot then why be mad at Favre cause he still wants to play, and it obvious that some of you are MAD PACKER FANS because to say that Favre does not make the Vikings better is ignorant.
Favre has been voted to the Pro Bowl the last 2 years and deservingly so minus the last 4 or 5 games last year. He did throw for 3472 yards and 22 TDs which is a huge improvement.
And Adrian Peterson is by far the best running back Favre has ever had,and if you will look at the last 2 runningbacks Favre has had( Grant Jones) Grant had the best year as a player with Favre, And Jones only had 1 other season where he rushed for more yards and never more TDs 2005 ( 1335 yds 9 TDs) 2008 ( 1312 yds 13 TDs) If Favre can bring that kind of help to the already nasty Adrian Peterson ( 1st & 2nd in rushing yards his first 2 years in the league ) Watch out NFC

    —————–
    LOL Now that was funny!

  56. @ RagnartheViking
The entire who ever heard of Donald Driver or Greg Jennings comment, really, are you that retarded? BOTH of those players came into the league AFTER this Favre guy started to be the God that he is, or rather was. Whatever point you were trying to make right there just went out the window, because because you can’t get your act together. Pretty sure that Jennings character had a pretty good year last year too without Favre, but I might be just as delusional as you are….

  57. Favre will not be playing for the Vikings. He will be playing against Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy. Favre will not be playing with the Vikings. He will be allowing the Viking coaches and players to accompany him. Expect some turbulence when things don’t go well.

  58. Whatthe hell:
If you are that dumb to compare the two…um never mind.
All Day did his damage in less carries.
He also didn’t start 6 games his rookie year.
Chili for some reason hel him out of halves of games.
All Day has done this with virtually a nobody at QB.
8 and 9 men in the box, defenses geared to stopping him and gameplanning for him.
Green had a hall of fame QB in the same backfield, you don’t think that made a huge difference?
His rookie year he had only 200 and some carries.
You are an idiot and a poor jaded Packer fan.
Too bad your hero is going to play for the Vikes.
Guess you’ll have to burn your Favre jammies now huh?
I don’t know of anyone who would compare those 2 running backs.
Take a poll of all the GM’s in the league and ask them who they’d rather build around ( if both are in thier primes)
It would be 32-32 for AP and you know it.
AP is going into his 3rd year, Green put his best numbers up in his 4th and 6th years.
Check back after year 6 and compare them then.
Better yet check his numbers with legitimate QB play this year, moron.
    Next!!!!!

  59. @Ragnarthedumbass
You seem to conveniently forget that the 4 years in a row that Green went to the Pro Bowl, he averaged 4.8 yds/carry and caught 209 passes for over 1700 yds. Are we judging the running back position or pure runner? Production is the name of the game and it would take Peterson about 10 years to add to the reception total and yardage given that he’s a terrible receiver and is yanked on 3rd down because he can’t pass block. He also led the NFL in total yards from scrimmage over a 5 year span. Green was a physical runner never avoided contact and ended up getting breaking down. Sound familiar? The only difference is that Green didn’t come into the NFL with a huge injury history.
The more Peterson carried the ball from year 1 to year 2, the lower his yards/carry went.

It was only a matter of time.
Randy Travis version is absolutely awesome!

  61. PK: the point is, nobody ever hear of these 2 WRS until Favre got ahold of them.
What: The point with Green is, he did this in like his 4-7th years in the league.
Peterson is going into his 3rd year.
Check the stats after they have the same amount of time in the game.
Christ you can pull any runners numbers from thier 2 best seasons and they may be better.
AP obly has 2 to go by, but they are the 2nd best 2 seasons to start a career, let him get to his prime.
The guy can catch the ball, his first td was a screen pass.
there is also Chester Taylor on this team, he has to play sometime.
Ap is working on his blocking as CT will be gone next year and you will see a more complete back.
Green and AP, not even in the same hemisphere.
    AP is light years better.
Have fun with Ryan Grant, favre made him, you see that from last year.
Why would you pay big $ to a guy that was the 5th or 6th rbon th giants depth chart?
    Teddy Teabag strikes again!!

  62. Talking common sense to you will be pointless, so it’s really a waste of time. Ahman Green was in the doghouse in Seattle with Holmgren for fumbling (sound familiar AP?) so of course he didn’t start his career right away. It’s also the main reason the Packers stole him away in a trade. Your argument holds no water. If Peterson had Holmgren as a coach, he could just as easily have been on the bench due to his excessive fumbling.
As for Grant, you’re obviously too blinded by your purple to see any real facts. Grant had a complicated contract dispute, missed time and then played on a bad hamstring the rest of the season. If you recall, the Giants were also stockpiled at RB AND he was out a full season after severing an artery after being bumped into a table of champagne glasses–an injury that they didn’t even know would be career ending or not due to nerve damage. Where would you expect him to be on the depth chart coming off of a serious injury? Ahead of Tiki Barber, Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward????
I never said Peterson isn’t a good runner, but he’s far from a complete back. Not even close. He’ll never be able to put up anything close to total yards in his career as say someone like LT because he’s not a good pass catcher/blocker or route runner. It’s been stated many times that’s why he leaves the field. Wait a second…..why was that happening the first two years? By your logic, he must suck.
The Vikings hand off all the time because they have crap receivers and crap QB’s. How many touches do you think Peterson will get if they ever have any semblance of a passing game? His numbers will go down, not up and you know it.

  63. You mean kinda like Green’s did with Favre at the helm?(#’s going down)
Dude your fricking talking in circles!
You don’t even understand the arguement.
I’m not comparing thier 1st 2 years you imbecile!
What I am saying is AP is not in his prime yet.
You can take LT’s and about any other RB and pick and choose thier 2 best years, and they may stack up better than AP’s…….BUT,
He’s going into his 3rd year, and at 24 has 6 good years left. Has had no legitimate QB for the Defense to account for. You don’t think taking 8/9 out of the box is going to create more space?
Then youre an even bigger idiot than I thought(not by much tho).
You must be blinded by your god awful team colors to see reality.
AP comes out because they have Chester Taylor, you know him, better than any RB on your roster?
For you to sit here and say that AP won’t ever be a complete back is ludicrous. You don’t think these guys work on stuff in the offseason?
How do you know that Chili didn’t just tell him to concentrate on running the ball? We have CT for 3rd down. You don’t and if you presume to think you know, than once again, youre an idiot.
AP’s first TD as a viking was a pass reception!
Youre problem is you beleive everything the Troy Aikman’s of the world tell you.
    Now, as for Grant.
I don’t want to hear any excuses about contracts injuries and all that other BS.
His hammie was evidently good enough for him to play. He has got to do better than 3.9 yards a carry.
    Berrian had 964 yds. 7 TDS 20.1 ypc…..yeah he’s crap.
    Shicancoe 600 yds. 7TDS 14.2 ypc ( tor a te!)
    he’s crap too.
Harvin the biggest playmaker in college, wait he plays for the Vikes, he’s crap.
Thos 2 put up thier stats with 2 back-up QBS, you don’t think Favre makes them better?
Oh wait, he’s going to play for the Vikings, he’s crap now too.
If you don’t think Favre makes this whole team better, then I don’t know what to tell you.
Greens best years were with a great QB, AP’s 2 years have been with journeymen and never were’s.
Youre argument that his numbers will go down is a fallacy. your own arguement for Green proves my point.
Don’t let your jealousy get in the way of what’s real and what’s not.
Youre an idiot and you know it.
