Patriots wrap up seventh-rounder

The New England Patriots have completed a four-year deal with seventh-round wide receiver Julian Edelman that includes a $48,700 signing bonus, according to Christopher L. Gasper of the Boston Globe.

Edelman is a converted quarterback from Kent State.

Drafted 232nd overall, Edelman rushed for 1,551 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.

The versatile player also passed for 1,820 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Per the report, the Patriots have experimented with Edelman as a kickoff returner and utilized him some at quarterback during minicamps.
