Now that quarterback Brett Favre has dropped the strongest possible hint regarding his intentions for the 2009 season, the Vikings officially have announced that single-game tickets for the 2009 season will go on sale this coming Monday, July 20.
It's safe to assume that refunds won't be accepted if Favre decides not to play.
The announcement meshes with a recent report from our own Tom Curran, which some in the Minnesota media either didn't notice or affirmatively ignored.
On Monday, single-game tickets will be available for all games, with the exception of the October 5 game against Favre's former team and the November 29 visit from the Bears.
After years of selling out the Metrodome, the Vikings had trouble last season. The franchise's first home playoff game in eight years nearly was blacked out locally.
With Favre, it'll be standing room only. Unless and until he takes a golf ball to his right arm.

The Vikings...psssshhhh. What a pathetic franchise. How badly they need Brett to save them. Oh yeah, and maybe win a game or two.
Rock em sock em'. Fight Fight Fight Fight
VFT "Viking Football Talk"
I lOVE IT!
SKOL Vikes
If they didn't get a refund after watching T Jack Off stink up the joint, they will never get one.
Skol Vikes!
"With Favre, it'll be standing room only."
That's about the ONLY way the Vikes can get their fans to stand.
Also, the franchise makes no guarantees that every fan in attendance will get one of Favre's errant passes (though most stand a pretty good chance--after the defenders have had their fill, of course).
With all this free advertising Florio and others are giving to the Viking ticket sales department, Wilf must feel good.
With Favre they won't have to worry about even having a home playoff game. Signing him solves that problem.
I look forward to Favre playing in the NFC North again. Without him it would boring as he!!

Didn't the Vikings win the division last year? Aren't the Packers going to suck again?
"Glass-house" seems like an appropriate term here.

Seriously? What does that make GB then? We smoked your asses last year in the division with arguably the worst QB in the league. We won 10 games to your measly 6 and won the division. If anyone should be worrying about winning a game or two, it should be the pathetic Packers.
The Vikings have already won 2 games without even playing yet. I mean afterall, they do play the Packers twice.
you mean to tell me the vikes are going to start selling single game tickets on the exact date they said they were going to? Wow!!! Give me some more juicey stories CornFlorio
Yeah we're pathetic. At least we don't have a dumbass general manager who lets a hall of fame quarterback go. And by the way, who was 6 and 10 last year. Who's pathetic now?
"After years of selling out the Metrodome".... yeah right, gimme a break. It wasn't just last year that they needed local businesses to bail them out to keep their supposed streak alive. Why do you think they make Packer fans buy a ticket to one of their preseason games? Because they know half the stadium is green and gold.

So Viking fans need Florio's help to realize that tickets are required in the event they want to watch Klink and the boys in that indoor shit hole? Could've fooled me.
Successful franchises with true fans don't need Florio's "free advertisement".

Naive enough to not realize who the better QB was last year. Rodgers > Favre. Dumbass GM? Look at your entire franchise, it's been run by clowns for years. Dumbass GM's don't win executive of the year too often I suppose.
@ LBPACKFAN
If your trying to outdo Jimmy Smith or Bob Nelson your doing a horrible job. You look even dumber than they do.
Florio, you've wagered a lot of time and energy to Brett Favre siging with the Vikings.
You are going to hear a lot of negative feedback when Brett Favre does not sign with the Vikings.
People can say the majority of your offseason rumors and hints were incorrect based on one event not happening.
Brett Favre is not predictable.
The vikings are. They screw up under pressure.
The only reason the Vikings had trouble selling playoff tickets was because almost none of the fans who go to games believed that Tavaris Jackson could play QB.
And that's a fact.
Gus Ferrote carried the team to the playoffs, and Tavaris Jackson lost the game for them.

That has nothing to do with it and you know it. I live in Minneapolis and have for 18 years. Why would Tavaris have anything to do with it when you have (according to my friends) the *best* running back to ever play the game?? When Randy Moss had stiffs throwing to him, people still showed up. Minnesota has a history of near blackouts that go back to the 90's, when the big corporations like General Mills would buy up the rest of them to keep the game from being blacked out. They stopped that practice and now it's up to the TV stations to protect their ad revenue.
And MN fans say they aren't fairweather. Whatever! When you're in the PLAYOFFS and you can't sellout the game, that's both despicable and sad, especially when a ticket at the metrodump is the cheapest in the league.
