Ikegwuonu found not guilty on all charges

Eagles cornerback Jack Ikegwuonu was acquitted of all charges filed against him on Friday.

The accused Xbox bandit (we're required to say non-360 here) found out the news after closing arguments in his case were heard Friday.  We found out the news via Drew Rosenhaus' Twitter account

Rosenhaus represents Ikegwuonu.

The Eagles selected the Wisconsin product in the fourth round of the 2008 draft despite knowing he would miss his rookie season with a torn ACL.

Now that the injury and legal problems are behind him, Ikegwuonu can concentrate on football again.

He's expected to compete for snaps with Ellis Hobbs and Joselio Hanson for reserve snaps at cornerback.  He should also help on special teams.

Ikegwuonu's brother, Bill, previously was acquitted by a jury.  Jack Ikegwuonu surprisingly opted to waive his right to a jury trial, putting his fate in the hands of a judge.

Yes, great. Jack will end up leading the Eagles Defense as a safety for years to come. Great News!

  2. VoxVeritas says: July 17, 2009 1:38 PM

    So was OJ.

I think the judge felt sorry for him for trying to steal an original Xbox. That is like stealing a VCR.

The judge's comments were probably along these lines..."Jack, I feel sorry for you. My 4 year old grandson knows the difference between a 360 and an obsolete game system. Not guilty!" Bang goes the gavel.

I'm glad this is over with. Now we can just focus on football and not have to worry about controversy.

Jack will probably play corner for the Birds. Good news, the whole accusation sounded like crap. Why would he want to steal an original XBox?

I think Jack can push Hobbs for the dime spot. Hobbs looks like he'll mainly be our kick returner and if the Sheldon Brown situation keeps going south, Hobbs is great insurance as a dime back.

In related news, Mr. Ikegwuonu was quoted as saying "I'm happy the trial is over so that now I may get back to playing the Xbox I stole).

Perhaps Andy Reid could hire Ikegwuonu's lawyer to represent his sons.

yeah Vox, and so was Pacman - oh wait...

Good analogy - a kid gets off on a misdimeanor and you equate that to a guy who got off for murder.

  9. Jackal138 says: July 17, 2009 2:58 PM

Aww, poor Voxie. Looks like all that moralizing in all of Jack Iguana's posts were for nothing - as he got off on the BS trumped up charges!

Face it, he's not a turd like you Cowgirls fans were hoping he'd be.

Steal an Xbox = OJ. Stab your TEAMMATE IN THE NECK WITH SCISSORS WHILE YOU'RE IN CRACK WITHDRAWL = Hall of Fame. How 'bout them Cowboys!

so......was it jack jake or bill...this blog get his name wrong every time!!!

The eagles judgements regarding the knee and the legal situation have thus far been correct. Lets hope they go three for three and this guy is a player.

Vox: shut up. 44-6. Or to look at it from your point of view, 6-44.

Besides, this whole incident wouldn't even make Pacman's top 10 for arrests.... and the game system cost less than one box of bullets from Tank Johnson's basement ammo dump, and I don't recall any moralizing from you on those topics.

Let's compare apples to oranges......"So was OJ".....Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the Dallas Cowgirls have a convicted coke dealer in it's ring of 'HONOR".....Don't you find that kind of offensive?......

  13. VoxVeritas says: July 17, 2009 6:14 PM

"yeah Vox, and so was Pacman"

WTF does this turd have to do with Pacman Jones?

  14. VoxVeritas says: July 17, 2009 6:16 PM

A criminal got away with it and Eagirls fans rejoice. Is it any wonder why you guys are universally viewed as undereducated scumbags?

  15. VoxVeritas says: July 17, 2009 6:18 PM

"Good analogy - a kid gets off on a misdimeanor"

He was charged with two felonies. And it's "misdemeanor".

  16. VoxVeritas says: July 17, 2009 6:26 PM

"He's expected to compete for snaps with Ellis Hobbs and Joselio Hanson"

Man, talk about a slapdick party.

"Perhaps Andy Reid could hire Ikegwuonu's lawyer to represent his sons."

He needs to have the Ikegwuonu scrubs pay the complainants a visit, like they did with this guy. Maybe Jack could threaten him with that huge bong, or maybe some of that crushed oxycontin that he's about to snort in this picture.

He's no bob hayes, or hollywood henderson, or dexter clinksdale, or dwaye goodrich, or rafael septien, or nate newton, or michael irvin. or larry bethea ,or pacman, or tank , just off the top of my head. Yes, but lets compare him to OJ...It's funny when thats all the ammo you HAD, and like you're lame ass "I don't live anywhere near Dallas" posts, it's all a fraud.......Bombard us with stats and links now..tell Mommy you need more Hot Pockets..Remember Tom Landry once said....."You have to believe in Jesus Christ to play for the Dallas Cowboys".......What a crock of shit

  19. Smush Rodrigez says: July 17, 2009 11:47 PM

Vox, it is really sad how you worry about this guy and about Andy's sons... Did Britt squat on your username or something else? The Cowboys are a bunch of creeps and you are worried about Jack I? I am not rejoicing - I honestly do not care. If this guy turns into a player, great. If he does not, there are no WRs that need to be covered in the East anymore anyway.

The Eagles best defensive player is Jerry Jones.

  20. Indyeagle says: July 18, 2009 12:55 AM

Now Vox is relegated to posting links to pictures that were proven to be photoshopped six months ago.

    You are such a tool.

  21. mustbechris says: July 20, 2009 1:54 AM

Score Vox with 5 posts in a row. Don't you have a life? I mean it's not like we're even talking about a post about a marquee player here that you could almost justifiably troll up. We're talking about a guy who hasn't even played one snap, and you have 5 separate posts in a row about it. Seriously, dude? That might be the epitome of pathetic.

"WTF does this turd have to do with Pacman Jones?"

WTF does he have to do with OJ? In fact, keeping in mind that he was acquitted, it's funny seeing you call him a turd when your team's roster included Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson, and Terrell Owens not too long ago.

""He's expected to compete for snaps with Ellis Hobbs and Joselio Hanson"

Man, talk about a slapdick party."

Good call, douchebag. Way to omit the "reserve" part. Regardless of how many snaps he gets, he'll barely see the field anyway. Funny that you picked a special teamer to go on some kind of crusade against.

"He needs to have the Ikegwuonu scrubs pay the complainants a visit, like they did with this guy. Maybe Jack could threaten him with that huge bong, or maybe some of that crushed oxycontin that he's about to snort in this picture."

This might be the best part of your really, really pathetic string of posts. You're seriously touting a photoshopped picture as proof that he's a criminal or something? If that's fair game for you, then is it subsequently fair game for me to call Michael Irvin a rapist even though those charges were dropped? It's already fair game to call him a cokehead. He's in your little ring of honor thing, though. I guess that's cool. I mean, it'd be one thing if you were beating the dead horse, but you were at least correct. You're wrong, yet you're still beating that horse. Nothing better to do with your time? I guess you'll be pretty bored, then, come January. Maybe you can catch some Eagles games. Luckily, they'll be playing through February.
