Lions agree to terms with Aaron Brown

The Lions got their first draft pick signing away out of the way before the NFL Draft, and now are starting to bang out the rest.

The team agreed to terms with sixth-round selection Aaron Brown.  The running back out of TCU reportedly looked explosive in offseason practices and will compete for return duties.

Brown appears to have a good chance to make the team, as running back is a thin position for Detroit.

Brown will compete for a roster spot with Aveion Cason.  Kevin Smith and Maurice Morris are atop the running back depth chart.

Fastest 40 time at the combine, if I'm remembering correctly.

Don't sleep on former FSU Seminole Antone Smith, who was an undrafted free agent that the Lions signed after minicamp. The former Rivals #1 overall running back was really impressive, showing a lot of speed and good hands--the same skill set that Brown brings to the table.

Where Brown can really make a name for himself is in the return game; the Lions are desperate for an impact returner, and third-round WR Derrick Williams has been sidelined all offseason with a lingering hammy. If Brown comes into camp on fire at the return spot, he's got a leg up on Smith and Caseon.

    Peace

If Aveon Caseon gets cut, he will only be re-signed. And then cut again. And then re-signed. This is how it has been and shall always be.
