Carson Palmer's elbow is "100 Percent"

NFL_palmer1.jpgTom Brady isn’t the only franchise quarterback coming back from a major injury this offseason.

Carson Palmer, once thought of as a possible successor to Brady and Peyton Manning among the quarterback elite, is coming off a mysterious elbow injury that sidelined him for 12 games last season.

Palmer spoke with AOL Fanhouse’s Nancy Gay and said he’s all the way back.

“I’m great. I feel great. I’m 100 percent healthy, throwing, lifting, running all that stuff.”

Palmer said he needed to improve as arm strength last month, but now is fully ready for training camp.  (Which, thankfully, is less than two weeks away.)

Despite the loss of T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Palmer arguably has the deepest receiver group of his run in Cincinnati.  Laveranues Coles has replaced Housh and second year pro Andre Caldwell looks like a playmaker.  Even Chris Henry has kept quiet this offseason.

If Palmer can get some blocking, the passing game will be difficult to handle.

As for the most famous Bengals receiver, Palmer believes Chad Ochocinco is getting back to the form that helped him lead the AFC in receiving four times.

But there’s no way Palmer will let him crash at his house.

“I’m not sure where that came from,” Palmer said.  “But the doors are locked, the alarm
is on. And he’s not getting past my attack dogs. We’re good.”

    So?
    He plays for the Bungles.
Let’s see if he can win against the Lions this season.

Carson’s elbow is 100%. Well, isn’t that good to know, and I’m sure he’d let us know if it wasn’t. It is the most boring time of the year for an NFL fan, so at least I’m reminded that my franchise quarterback is healthy.

He may be dumb enough to stay in Cincinnati but at least he has enough brains to keep Homey the Clown away from his family.

Any change he can bring the attack dogs to the stadium and have them keep ocho away from his cell phone during games?

How can you say that the Bengals can’t beat the Lions? You are probably a Steeler or Ravens fan that has nothing better to do on his Saturday afternoon than to bash a team that will be in it till the end this year.

All right!!! Looks like he’ll lead his team to a stellar 5-11 season this year.

No Thomas its worse…he is a Packers fan…

Thomas, in what exactly til the end of the year? In the competition for best team in Ohio?

Stinko: “I do Walk, I do Talk.” I do ……. Knock Knock… hello Carson I here ready to crash!

Palmer is good sleep for your fantasy teams. They will always play from behind, so he will be chucking the ball all the time. Maybe a Cincy fan can help with this question, but why haven’t the Bengals every gotten a quality TE? That would really help their offense.

And this is a smaller story than Favre? Maybe I missed it, but this was his throwing arm wasn’t it? I always thought that Carson had a great career ahead of him. I’m not a Cincy fan but they should have been able to build around him for years now. Is he going to end up in Seattle like Hassle to finish his career? He’s more capable of being a well-rounded QB then Boomer and Kenny, but so far, not so good.

After seeing that “guard dogs” comment, its clear that the media takes Chad way, way more serious than the people who know him personally. Even Belichick likes to trash talk with Chad … and you can’t get him to say squat in front of a camera otherwise.

Give me a break EdReed4prez….Who is Joe Flacco going to throw the ball to? The only 1,000 yard guy on the Ravens is now retired and that leaves who? I don’t even know the name of the recievers for you guys and I am a pretty knowledgable NFL person….especially with NFL recievers. So don’t give me any crap about this. YOu try being without your franchise QB for an extended period of time, you would be worse than you will already be this year.

I loved having Palmer as my keeper QB on my fantasy team the last few years. But when he got hurt, Philip Rivers took his job and ran with it. I had to let Carson go. Philip is younger and is on a better team.
Sorry, Carson. If you’re available in the draft again, I may be able to get you back on my team as a backup. But you’ll have to prove yourself to beat Rivers for the #1 spot.

Thomas, we haven’t had a franchise qb for many extended periods of time. And I believe you did have a franchise qb to start last season 0-4 didn’t you?

  16. EdReed4prez says: Jul 19, 2009 11:03 AM

By the way if you play defense and run the ball you don’t need a 1000yd receiver. But rest assured mr. Mason will be on the field this year. And FYI our other receivers are m. Clayton and d. Williams, you might not know them because they don’t mail cornerbacks antacid and vow to break the tweeting rules.

  17. Thomas Paquette says: Jul 19, 2009 12:36 PM

Or maybe we just don’t hear about them because they aren’t one of the best recievers in this past decade. And yes we did go 0-4 with Carson, but with that said, our line sucked and Chad and T.J weren’t there for voluntary camp, which any good team, has all or most of their guys there dedicated during the Voluntary workouts.

  18. EdReed4prez says: Jul 19, 2009 1:40 PM

Yeah I know, o-line troubles, defense troubles, we lost 20 to IR last year. Don’t make excuses for a shitty team with a coach that shoulda been replaced 2yrs ago

  19. EdReed4prez says: Jul 19, 2009 2:02 PM

You may not have heard of them cause they’re not one of the best receivers of the decade. But what exactly has that receiver of the decade done for your TEAM?

  20. EdReed4prez says: Jul 19, 2009 2:36 PM

“any good team has all or most of their guys there dedicated during the Voluntary workouts.”
Thank you sir you’ve made my point for me.
