Quin cashes in with Texans

Houston Texans rookie cornerback Glover Quin’s four-year rookie contract included a $490,000 signing bonus and has a total value of $2.24 million, according to Adam Caplan of Scout.com.

A three-year starter, Quin registered 156 career tackles, seven interceptions and 32 pass deflections in 34 starts for New Mexico.

Last season, Quin became the first Lobos defensive back to be named the team’s Most Valuable Player in a decade.

That was back in 1999 when future Chicago Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher was playing safety for New Mexico.

I like this guy. He’s got a first name for a last name and a last name for a first name. Awesome.
    Sincerely,

What’s the relevance of the term “cashes in” in the headline?
Mike Goodson (Texas A&M/Carolina) was selected one slot ahead of Quin and basically got the same deal (4-years, $2.242M; $492,400 signing bonus).
That’s the going rate for early to mid 4th rounders. Quin’s contract was not out of the ordinary.

I’ve been reading some really good things about Quin lately. If he turns out to be a quality starter then I won’t miss Sage Rosenfels as much, because that’s what that trade with Minnesota ultimately amounted to. Good luck Quin…
