KC Joyner’s “Big City” analysis of the Jags O-line is ridiculous. He doesn’t touch on the fact that Garrard was the most hit QB in the league and doubled his sack total from 21 to 42. Garrard had to run for his life as he had guys in the backfield with every snap last year. Dude is a joke. Or maybe I just expect too much from a guy who calls himself a Football Scientist.
Jets coaches are rightfully excited about the starting talent on their O-line. But if one of those guys goes on IR mid-season, they’re kinda screwed, IMHO.
Leading up to the draft, I was sure they’d pick up at least one better backup guy in free agency and use a high pick on some good young talent. Instead, they mortgaged the farm for Sanchez. That might turn out to have been the right move in the long run, but still . . .
