Check us out on FOX News

Though we’re now in partnership with NBC, we’ve still gotta promote the site, even if it means doing a spot on FOX News.

I’ll be on with Shepherd Smith at 3:10 p.m. EDT, possibly via satellite and at a minimum by phone to talk about the Roethlisberger case.

So tune in.  And then, when the segment is over, go back to MSNBC.

    Shut the f*ck up Florio.

  2. Run1out says: Jul 21, 2009 2:27 PM

Well what do you know? FOX is gonna put a liberal on its show! I guess they must be fair and balanced after all.

  3. An Alright Guy says: Jul 21, 2009 2:28 PM

Mike, you are a really not the brightest bulb about this whole corporate sponsorship thing are you?

  4. TheVillain112 says: Jul 21, 2009 2:36 PM

I’m sure some people will be quick to point out how they “hate” Fox News, but it’s worth noting that Shepherd Smith is one of the good guys.
Good choice on who to promote with.

  5. Revacard says: Jul 21, 2009 2:39 PM

LOL. How does Florio reconcile his “libertarianism” with being a fan of MSNBC?

  6. tuscani says: Jul 21, 2009 2:42 PM

I didn’t know people stilled watched MSNBC now that their candidate won. FoxNews stomps their ass on a regular basis when ratings are concerned; the numbers don’t lie. You better watch it Folrio or there will be a ProFootball Czar chosen soon.

  7. Superbelt says: Jul 21, 2009 2:43 PM

Yeah Shep is the one decent person on that network.
Anyway. Florio, You are bitching about ESPN not reporting on this…. But you entirely in the other direction just saturating everyone with this right now. Basically, you’re doing the plaintiff’s job for her by getting her story out. So congrats to you, I guess.
Are McNulty and her lawyer sponsoring this site now too?

  8. R says: Jul 21, 2009 2:43 PM

    Good job promoting the site.

  9. florio's biggest fan says: Jul 21, 2009 2:52 PM

Who cares. Foxnews sucks. But florio is great. He’ll save foxnews

  10. Racho95 says: Jul 21, 2009 2:59 PM

My TV doesn’t get FOX News. Odd.

  11. Primetime17 says: Jul 21, 2009 3:04 PM

That’s too funny “go back to msnbc” like they were to begin with. Nobobody watches messnbc. I love your humor Mr. Florio.

  12. TealDeal says: Jul 21, 2009 3:11 PM

At least he picked the right news channel.
    You buncha commies

  13. Qoojo says: Jul 21, 2009 3:17 PM

You can suck on it if you think I am ever going to a fox “news” site.

  15. SF Saints Fan says: Jul 21, 2009 3:23 PM

Great appearance on Fox News Florio. Keep on this story. Also good decision to pick Fox News for an appearance. At least they have an audience, as opposed to MSNBC which has none.

  16. Der says: Jul 21, 2009 3:26 PM

Why was George Stephanopoulos on Fox News talking about football? He covers politics for another network, not football for Fox.

  17. lebowski says: Jul 21, 2009 3:39 PM

ESPN or FoxNews…. which sucks more?? Personally, I’d rather shave my crotch with a cheese grater than watch either one.

Shep Smith is the one rational person at the new Pravda.
I guarantee that non of the people above me who posted “rah rah Fox News” knows what Pravda is, though, because conservatives just wait like babies with their mouths open so their corporate rulers can spoon-feed ideology for them to regurgitate. It’s way too hard to actually read about and retain knowledge or an independent political opinion.
To be fair, MSNBC does the same thing, but to a far lesser degree.

  19. Jeff Smith says: Jul 21, 2009 3:54 PM

You really know how to stir up the right wingers, Florio.
I agree that Shep is perhaps the only honest person on Fox News–good choice for your interview. Good luck.

  20. basko says: Jul 21, 2009 4:06 PM

    How cliche can people get?
    Complaining about FOX News.
Hold on while I get my and Daily Kos taking points to help move this along.

  22. hotchick says: Jul 21, 2009 4:13 PM

Geesh Marie.. More examples of the dumbness of America.
How many comments are we going to see along the lines of “anyone who doesn’t think like me cant think for themselves?”
“I dont watch Network XYZ because they dont shape the news to fit my opinion?”
Maybe if we all listened to each presentation of the story and decided for ourselves based on what we actually hear THEN formed an opinion we’d be better off.
It would also help if people realized others can hear the same information and honestly come to different conclusions on how to approach the situation.

  23. Bob S. says: Jul 21, 2009 4:13 PM

Foxnews is a helluva lot MORE fair and balanced than CNN, MSNBC or ALL the rest of the national media!

#1 – Fox News’ Shepard Smith: “We don’t F%@king Torture!”

#2 – Shepard Smith makes a Freudian slip on FNC!

  24. Pacifus says: Jul 21, 2009 4:17 PM

But at least it’s with Shep.

My best friend is a Colonel in the Air Force. Was in the command center when we invaded Iraq. Do you know what news channel the brass was watching? The BBC. There aren’t ANY news channels in America. On it’s best days, which are so very rare, it’s “newstainment” at best. Look at what’s going on across the globe and think what story received the most coverage and the biggest audiences so far – Micheal Jackson’s funeral. The hasn’t been a news channel in the US in over two decades. So, you all can sling mud all you want, GE and Fox are laughing all the way to the bank and you are told only what they want you to hear.

  27. Winston Wolfe says: Jul 21, 2009 5:01 PM

The Good News is 2 to 3 million people will see see you on Fox News as opposed to 200 to 300 people seeing you on MSNBC. So you got that going for ya.

Well, there might be some of us “below” you
(see how you elitist liberals get?) that DO in fact know that Pravda is not merely a retard’s phonetic pronunciation of “Prada”…
Russian “media” history aside, you’re right:
PMSNBC DOES do it to a lesser extent, but only because they know they have CNN, ABC, CBS, VH1, MTV, NPR, BBC, Al Jazeera, The New York Times/Washington Post/Baltimore Sun/Cuntington Post et al, 85% of the internet, and the ENTIRE FEDERALLY-CONTROLLED EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM all picking up the slack for them.
Don’t worry, though–it’s not an imbalance.
FOX, Rush, Beck, and a handful of others vs.
the rest of the media = about fair.

  29. Winston Wolfe says: Jul 21, 2009 5:08 PM

Just think how big you would be if you had partnered with Fox and were doing spots on the #1 pre game show with with Jimmy, Howie and Terry. But then you couldn’t dream about being on the last place NBC’s Sunday Night Football and sucking on Olberman’s pencil.

East96st , you’re so right. Hopefully, the rest of these drones will wake up and put forth some effort into forming independent thoughts. Arguing over who has the best “news” channel….are you serious?
This wrong turn that our media coverage has taken in favor of ratings is one of the real problems in this country, which usually shows up in comments like these. “If you don’t believe what they told me on the channel I watch, you’re an idiot.” Wake up, people.

  31. Alpheratz says: Jul 21, 2009 5:31 PM

    “go back to MSNBC”
to join the 4 others that are there?

  32. Real Football Fan says: Jul 21, 2009 6:18 PM

FFTFuctme , God are you really that delusional? The only thing any of the “news” outlets or people you cited above care about is their advertisers. Wake up.
I dare you (and anyone else who relies on any of the various “news channels for information) to just read the news headlines everyday for one year and stop listening to the bullshit all of these newstertainment outlets shovel down your throat. I’d like to see what your actual views are when you come to them independently.

I love the “Oh, you’re picking on me you ELITIST” meme that all conservatives latch onto.
It’s not being elitist when you really are more informed than the other side. The Republican party is the party of the rural south. Rural Conservative Southerners take pride in their stupidity.
And the “omg you’re an elitist” pantywringers are the same people that will insist that athiests and non-christians are morally inferior to them.
We just think we’re smarter than you. You think we’re not worthy of God’s love. We’re the real elitists.

  35. Dr. Hannibal Lector says: Jul 21, 2009 8:29 PM

This is a football site. The man told you he will be on tv, discussing something related to a football player. He told you where he will be on tv. And….. you crazy morons start, of all things, politically bitching?????
It honestly really is saddening. You really can’t help yourself can you? You just can’t stop the obsession. You need to understand this is exactly why the word HYSTERICAL is usually used in conjunction with the word liberal. The man told you where he’ll be on tv discussing a football player. And you can’t help yourself. On a football site.
Seriously, have you guys ever kissed a girl???

  36. Smush Rodrigez says: Jul 22, 2009 7:26 AM

gotta agree with east96st…. eve if heis a Giants fan. Te “news channels” are all biased. They are schills for their perspective party – like an extension of their parties’s PR macine. You can tell when tey constantly hit all of the talking points.
BBC is good and PBS is OK. There are plenty of sites on the internet. But, people do not want real news – they want biased opinions so they can feel good about their choices. How else can you justify Rush’s following?
I do like watching Fox, CNN, and MSNBC to hear the opinions of te far right and left. Sometimes just to get a good laugh.

  37. Jackal138 says: Jul 22, 2009 1:30 PM

First off, any post that concludes “You guys are virgins!” or “You never kissed a girl” is like the equivalent of calling someone a nazi in an argument. It’s an old, tired tactic – it’s not clever and doesn’t score you any points. If you’re such a whiny pantysniffer that you can’t NOT read the reader comments on a blog post when you don’t like them, you’re a freaking moron.
And Smush, you’re right. Nothing is funnier than on election day, flipping between FOX and MSNBC. Depending on what party wins, one network will be dancing in the studio, the other will be predicting the end of the world in the next few months. When Obama won, the ecstatic liberals were funny, but the scared, old white rich dudes on FOX were priceless.
