Benard had more deep ball(passes over 20 yards) plays than anyone one in the nfc with the best yards per catch in the league!!!!! and he was only a few catches from a 1000 yard season…mind you we have the best running back in the leauge with a lacking passing attack..so with all that said….ya you should be worried…plus hes a 97 speed in madden…so with all that, yes i can call him dangerous…i mean hes no old slow ass donald driver…maybe thats who consider dangerous…packer fans are the dumbest f*cking morons i have met

And the Williams Wall will most likely be suspended…. at the beginning of the season…and thank god… they wouldn’t want it no other way… why would they wanna take the chance of losing them later in the season when they can lose them in the beginning and go against 4 of the weakest running offenses in the league. the best being the PACKERS…and what a joke that is.

If by contenders you mean they have a chance to make the playoffs again this year, then you’re correct. Then again, so does Chicago, Green Bay and Detroit.
Point is the season hasn’t even started yet. We have no idea what’s going to happen. Adrian Peterson could go down, the Williams boys could wind up suspended, the Vikes defense could be plagued with injuries much like Green Bay’s was last season.. How about we start playing some games before getting too far ahead of ourselves, eh?

You said vikings didn’t have a top 20 passing defense, yet the vikings pass defense was ranked inside 20 at 18 and they are missing the most under rated MLB in the NFL in EJ henderson. Also, the run defense is so good most teams pass so it makes the passing stats inflated.

I can’t speak for Detroit, but I expect the Packers and Bears to both be competitive with you for the division this year.

I dont know why everyone is talking down about Winfield. As a Vikes fan, what you have to realize a few things. Winfield, as with Favre, may not be the BEST player for that position but dangit he is the better than what we already have on board. Is Favre the best QB to manage a team right now…no….is Favre the best QB that the Vikes will have on their roster…YES. Same with Winfield, yea he is good for our team but may not be the best overall option in the league. People just have to see it like that and accept it for what it is.

The vikings pass defense was not even in the top 20 and poor play by Winfield is a part of it.
The vikings have a couplee of the worst CB’s in all of the NFL.
It would be another stupid move if they extended a bad corner like Winfield.

i dunno about that. what exactly do you mean? against the run? the pass? overall?
wifield is great against the run. slightly above average in pass coverage. overall, best corner on the vikes, 2nd or 3rd best in the division.
the thing is, the vikes NEED him. they got nobody to take his place. asher allen isn’t ready, griffin mccauly gordon. i don’t even know if those last two guys are on the team anymore.
also, winfield ma not have such a hot year with suspect safeties behind him. prolly won’t try to jump too many routes.
i would say prolly more like top 8-10.

Bird, you really think anyone is worried about Bernard, I don’t care who throws to him, he’s about as scary as blind a** Troy Williamson was, also I will be amazed if little Percy makes it through the season in one piece. As far as AD getting 2000, he may need to after your soon to be 40 yr old QB gets one of his limbs snapped, talk about living on borrowed time. The only thing I am worried about is that Brad and his kick a** offense will be out of the division after this year, but hell maybe some high school will give him another opportunity.

I expect Winfield to play at a high level (pro bowl) for then next couple of years. If he signs a 3 year deal and the decline starts to show at the end of the 2nd we can part ways.
As of right now though this is a great signing. He’s at the top of his game and is a leader. I was worried Favre, for as much as I want him on the team, would screw this up.
Looks like we’ll have both!!!
