Cecil Sapp signs with UFL's New York franchise

Former Denver Broncos and Houston Texans fullback Cecil Sapp has signed with the United Football League’s New York franchise, according to his agent.

Agent David Canter announced the deal on his Twitter account.

Sapp, 30, will be utilized at fullback and running back in New York.

The 5’11,” 236-pounder played in a dozen games for the Texans last season after spending the previous five seasons in Denver.

For his career, Sapp has rushed for 220 yards on 51 carries, averaging 4.3 yards per rush, with two touchdowns. He has also caught 24 passes for 102 yards and one touchdown.

Sapp played collegiately at Colorado State.
