Washington Redskins third-round cornerback Kevin Barnes’ four-year contract includes a $782,500 signing bonus, according to a league source.
Barnes played at the University of Maryland, recording 100 career tackles and six interceptions along with 15 pass deflections.
Selected 80th overall, Barnes’ senior season was abbreviated by a fractured shoulder blade.
Barnes is regarded as a hard-nosed tackler, as evidenced by his big hit against Cal-Berkeley that became a YouTube sensation.

And this is what scares me about this pick…
…is that big hit all he has to hang his hat on? Is that what shot him up the draft boards?
I highly doubt he’s the next Antoine Winfield.
