Denver Broncos rookie tight end Richard Quinn’s four-year contract is worth a total of nearly $3 million, including a $930,000 signing bonus, according to a league source.
Quinn was drafted in the second round with the 64th overall selection.
At 6-foot-3, 264 pounds, Quinn has a reputation as a strong blocking presence.
He caught a dozen passes at the University of North Carolina for 124 yards and two touchdowns with the lion’s share of the passes directed toward star wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.
“We probably should have thrown the ball to Richard more,” Tar Heels offensive coordinator John Shoop told us prior to the NFL Draft. “He’s an excellent athlete with good hands. He’s a very tough blocker, very physical.”
