Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger addressed the civil claim of sexual assault made against him last week in Nevada, with a public statement denying the allegations made against him.
“The truth will prevail,” Roethlisberger said as he concluded the remarks, which were televised live on a network that as of a day ago had its head buried in the sand (or elsewhere) regarding one of the biggest off-field legal entanglements involving an NFL player since authorities found a bunch of dogs at Mike Vick’s rural property in Virginia.
We’ll be posting more on this once we find a transcript of the statement. (And, yes, we have a DVR. And, no, it wasn’t on the right channel.)
