The clock is ticking on the Buffalo Bills.
Given the trade that sent left tackle Jason Peters to the Eagles, the Bills had two first-round picks in the 2009 draft.
And as the team prepares to kick off training camp Saturday morning, neither of the two first-rounders is under contract.
Ditto for the two second-round picks.
And a fourth-rounder.
Unsigned are defensive end Aaron Maybin, the eleventh overall pick in the draft, center Eric Wood, the 28th overall selection, second-round cornerback Jairus Byrd, second-round guard Andy Levitre, and fourth-round tight end Shawn Nelson.
Though deals can be done at any time, the fact that it’s the night before the first practice and five guys aren’t signed means that someone will be staying up late tonight in Western New York — and that one or more of those five players possibly won’t be at work tomorrow morning.
Or they could have zero holdouts…
They are also starting camp early, things will get done.
TO has a key to the city……(How lame is that)…..He can let them in……
It has only been 3 months since the draft!!
Why if they focused on getting one draft pick signed a week since the draft they would not have had time for vacation.
Marv is no longer GM so they are trying to sign bad character guys into the locker room now and those type take longer to negotiate contracts.
Without Marv they are not contenders except in the race to be disfunctional.
Does anyone know who is in charge? or do we have to wait until Owens starts telling us how bad the front office is?
this camp early; its okay excuse is terrible. You have 4 guys you want to start – they need to be there Day One.
The Bills are idiots for not getting this done. WHAT THE F*CK ARE THEY DOING??? Who replaced Marv? Mickey Mouse? WTF????
yawn…
Since it is only the Bills who Florio continues to highlight, apparently the other 31 teams have already signed all or at least the majority of their draft choices.
