And the dream of triple digits for the “Days Without an Arrest” meter has died.
Texans fullback Vonta Leach reportedly was arrested this week for simple assault, a misdemeanor.
The arrest arises from a June 28 fight at Blackwater Grille in his hometown of Lumberton, North Carolina. Leach allegedly was escorting two fighting women out of the establishment at 2:00 a.m., when Reggie Locklear supposedly asked Leach “who he was talking to.”
Leach allegedly responded by hitting Locklear with a beer bottle and kicking him.
The five-year veteran was a Pro Bowl alternate for the Texans in 2008, his third year with the team. Primarily a blocker, Leach had one carry for one yard and one touchdown last season.
He also caught a dozen passes for 103 yards.
Leach is due to appear in court on August 18. Unless the hearing can be handled by his lawyer, Leach possibly will miss some preseason practice time.
Meanwhile, we’re in the process of figuring out how to re-set the meter; we haven’t had to do it since joining forces with NBC.

That link used to get me semi-not-fat chicks.
Vonta Leach can’t miss practice time! Who else will block for Florio’s hero, WVU’s own Steve Slaton?
That’s the problem in this country, people run their mouth in a bar; then file a lawsuit cause someone shut their ass up…
…and we gave the world John Wayne
I guess Reggie Locklear found out the hard way.
This is a great bust! I can probably help reset the clock.
Typo, it was actually Heather Locklear, not Reggie…
