Third-round offensive lineman Antoine Caldwell and fifth-round tight end James Casey have both agreed in principle on four-year rookie contracts with the Houston Texans, according to the Houston Chronicle.
According to Adam Caplan of Scout.com, Caldwell’s deal is worth $2.554 million and includes a $804,000 signing bonus.
Casey received a $185,000 signing bonus, per Caplan, and is worth a total of $1.935 million.
Caldwell was a 48-game starter at Alabama, lining up primarily at center and also starting occasionally at left guard. He surrendered just one sack in his last 23 games.
Casey is a former minor league baseball player who caught 111 passes for 1,329 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.
He played seven different positions at Rice, including fullback, running back, tight end, wide receiver, quarterback, defensive end and safety.
Casey caught 157 career passes for 1,914 yards and 17 touchdowns.
