Bills bounce DiGiorgio, and Hardy opens camp on PUP

The Buffalo Bills are the first team to open camp this year.

And they got things started with some roster moves.

For starters, linebacker John DiGiorgio was waived after failing his physical. He tore an ACL last season, and the knee was deemed to be not ready for action.

DiGiorgio, who joined the team as an undrafted free agent in 2006, had been a key contributor on special teams, and he was part of the linebacker rotation.

Also, second-year wideout James Hardy is on the physically unable to perform list. The 2008 second-round pick also is recovering from an ACL tear.

Receiver C.J. Hawthorne is on the PUP list, too. Hardy and Hawthorne won’t be permitted to practice unless and until they are removed from the PUP list.
