Ealy signed to relieve Ravens receiver shortage

The Ravens could struggle to replace Derrick Mason, but it wasn’t so hard to move on past Drew Bennett.

Baltimore signed former Titans and Saints wideout Biren Ealy Monday for depth.

Ealy was last seen on the streets of New Orleans, cited on a variety of charges, including disturbing the peace while urinating being drunk in public.  (And exposing himself after getting called out.)

Ealy was running as Tennessee’s third receiver in offseason practices in 2008, but didn’t wind up making the team out of training camp.

He’s no lock to make the Ravens either, no matter where he chooses to tinkle in Baltimore.

That is in fact what first put him on the Raven’s radar.

You know it’s bad when you repeatedly consider former Titans WRs to be an upgrade. That sounds about like the year the Broncos brought in all those Cleveland DLs.

    You must be kidding me!
Ozzie must have finally lost it.
The best two WRs he can find to replace Mason are
    Bennett and Early? HUH?
Does Matt Jones have a curse on him?
wow- there has to be better options than two washed up never was.

This is the most brilliant roster move ever made by Jeff Fisher . The Baltimore Ravens have been the only team to constantly beat the Titans , so how else beat the enemy ? He releases in reference to his former players that they are fantastic , they go to the enemy , and when th.e Titans have Flacco hiking the ball at -2 on the gameclock , his throw to Biren Ealy over the middle will be bobbled and Drew Bennet will smack the ball to the ground not realizing the magnitude of the catch …. Hey if they dont run it back he’ll look like a “football” player instead of a hybrid reciever .

What is it with Baltimore and former Titans WR’s? Who’s next? Tyrone Calico? Eddie Berlin? Jake Schifino? I’m sure Paul Williams will be available in a month or so, why not wait for that?

It’s amazing how irresponsible some of these teams are. I understand that going younger makes sense for many of the wide receiver positions in an offense, but do all of them require speed?
I would think the Ravens are in rebuilding mode if they don’t get the smart route-runner Amani Toomer. They still could, but it just seems arrogant, moreso than the Giants since Eli Manning can’t throw even if he had Fitzgerald, Reggie Wayne and Marques Colston.

Ealy’s arrest total (1) also matches his total number of career NFL catches.
This may be the guy that puts the Ravens over the top… or not.

I would guess this is Ozzie just signing another body for training camp.
