Braylon arrives a day late, lands on "Active/NFI" list

Browns receiver Braylon Edwards was a surprise no-show on Monday at Browns camp, a fact that wasn’t noticed by most in the media because Monday was only the date on which rookies were due to report — veterans show up later in the week,

Browns spokesman Neal Gulkis tells us that Edwards arrived on Tuesday, and that he has been placed on the “Active/NFI” list.

“NFI” is short for “non-football injury/illness.”

This means that Edwards has an injury of some sort that he didn’t acquire while working out or practicing or playing games with the Browns.

The specific injury isn’t known at this point.

Given the history of coach Eric Mangini, we assume it’s a “leg.”
