Bobby Wade says Urlacher thinks Cutler's a "pussy"

NFL_urlacher.jpgWell, now that one offseason NFC North quarterback drama emanating from Minneapolis has ended (we think), the football-following world needs a new one.

Enter Vikings receiver Bobby Wade.

Wade told our pal Paul Allen of KFAN within the hour that, during an offseason trip to Vegas with Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher, Urlacher expressed a not-so-flattering opinion of new Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.

Basically, Wade said that Urlacher said that Cutler is a “pussy.”

Urlacher has been the cornerstone of the Bears’ defense since 2000; Cutler arrived via trade earlier this year.

We’re told that a podcast of the remaks will be up soon at KFAN’s web site

We hope their hamsters are rested and fed.

Seriously Mike, this is PFT’s greatest headline ever. I won’t even bother with a funny remark. Instead, I’ll continue to let the headline speak for itself…

But Boddy Wade is a scumbag. Bobby, Pats fans haven’t forgot your blantant cheapshot at Rodney Harrison’s knees in week 17 of 2006. You know, the cheap shot that knocked Rodney out for the playoffs and probably cost them a Super Bowl that year.

If you are even considering calling Bobby Wade a Scumbbag for hitting Rodney Harrison cheap, you are a moron. How can you even defend one of the biggest mouthed pile of craps to ever wear a helmet. I wish Harrison would have shattered his knee during that play and if you think that the Patriots season was ruined because of the loss of Harrison, your once again- a MORON

  20. rick says: Jul 29, 2009 1:09 PM

Yeah, what’s news about this? Everybody else thinks he is too! Now we’re gonna have to hear Urlacher make like he didn’t say what he did say….Chicago’s history of rugged QB’s ended with that trade…the new image is of a irritable, pouting, man-child standing in the corner with his arms folded.

  21. bobinpuertorico says: Jul 29, 2009 1:10 PM

Wow! A Pats fan who does not like Bobby Wade, due to possible cheapshot at Harrison’s knees. Of course Pats fans think Vince Wilfolk is a hero, despite his clear cheap shot to the knees of J.P. Losman a couple of years back (as well as many other dirty cheap shots that Wilfolk has taken during his career). It would be sort of ironic if in Brady’s first game back, the Bills accidentally took out his knees and he lost another full year.

And I’d bet he’s already said as much to all of them he’s “worked” with…both on the Bears’ roster and elsewhere.
And I’m sure Wade would have NO reason to create unrest and dissent in Chicago, right?

The Bengals have yet to recover from that. So don’t whine that Belichick didn’t cheat his way to a 17th title back in 2006.

Great…the Bears finally get a franchise QB and an over the hill player has to open his big mouth. I’m sure Jerome Bettis could say the same thing about Urlacher after he blew him up in Pittsburgh a few years ago.
How many stuffs or solo tackles do you see Urlacher ever make behind the line? Trade him and get what you can at this point. Being a team leader is not bad mouthing your new QB to former teammates. If he said that to him he said the same to his own teammates.

Hahaha, is that a Pats fan complaining about someone cheap shotting Rodney Harrison? That’s like a Klansmen talking about David Duke being racially discriminated against. This kind of “story” is so ridiculous and undermines the integrity of the people who write for this site. Bobby Wade said that Urlacher said… are you serious? Hayward, are you really complaining about a cheap shot ON Rodney Harrison?
If it was one, that’s just kharma for the dirtiest player of the past decade (not my opinion, Harrison’s peers hands down voted him the dirtiest player in the NFL).
I don’t remember that play or ever seeing Wade deliver a cheap shot. He’s not that that type of player.
But he should have kept the comments to himself. You know “Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” also applies to candid opinions voiced about your co-workers.

  61. Alero says: Jul 29, 2009 1:45 PM

Urlacher knows his days as the ‘face’ of the Bears franchise is coming to an end. So his comments regarding Cutler are based on pure envy!
Until Cutler came into town, the Bears did not have another proven player to fall on. Sorry, Forte was a rookie, and ‘not proven’ by fan created standards. Hester is exciting, but his undefined position brings too much uncertainty. Briggs is in Urlacher’s shadow and has too many off-field mother-child issues.
What I do find interesting is that players from other teams have so much to say about Chicago…we don’t have a receiving core, a player called another player out of his name. Sounds to me that Chicago may the team to beat in the NFC North.
    Your thoughts?

With Rodney, the Patriots defense does not melt down as it did in the 06 -07 AFCCG in Indy.
Look at Indy’s record vs. New England since 2003 when Harrison was playing vs. when he was not playing.
Pats played Indy 9 times since ’03. In games Harrison played Pats won all 5. In the games he didn’t play (including ’06 regular season when he was knocked out 1st or 2nd play of the game, Colts won all 4. So, yes, I believe if he plays in the ’06-’07 postseason, they beat the Bears in the SB.
Sure its water under the bridge. But still…F Bobby Wade.

  65. dgol18 says: Jul 29, 2009 2:00 PM

Bobby was shown the door in Chicago because he was more worried about getting hit than he was about catching punts. During one of his numerous muffs, Urlacher was caught by NFL films screaming “Da**it Bobby! Come on!” (It was shown numerous times on NFL Replay, so I’m sure Bobby heard about it.) Urlacher definitly thought he was a p***y, and I’m sue still does. I guarantee Bobby will go nowhere near the middle of the field against the Bears this year. However if anyone in the NFL should be considered an expert of “catching wind” of anything, it would be Bobby. He certainly cannot catch footballs.

Sorry dude, the Bengals would NOT have won that game with Choker Palmer in there — the Steelers OWN the Bengals and Palmer in games played in Cincinnati. Go look up how many times Palmer has beaten the Steelers in Cincy his entire career — can you say NEVER?
I wish this myth would go away. The Steelers put up 5 or 6 TDs that day — does Palmer play defense? And they could’ve scored more had they not shut it down to kill the clock in the 4th.
The Steelers OWN Carson Palmer, ESPECIALLY in Cincinnati. The better team won that day. Case closed.

Did loosing Rodney cost them going to the SB and stomping the Bears? Maybe. As a team they were supposed to overcome his loss. Was Rodney a cheap shot artist? That depends on who you ask. When I hear “cheap shot” I think of Wade and what he did. Yeah Rodney might have hit people late or jumped on the pile late, but he never intentionally tried to hurt another player by aiming for his knees. Wade obviously had an agenda. And whoever said they had zero chance that year, did you even watch the game dipshit? They were about 60 seconds away before Brady threw the INT to end it or do you not remember Peyton on the bench praying to God and afraid to even watch???

“Is that dirty? I missed the AFC Championship Game and he could have ended my career. But they look at me and say I’m dirty. It’s all good. I’m not going to change the way I approach the game or the way I play.”

    Frank Burns –
You’re a dope. Do you happen to remember how that game started? Tittsburgh: 3 and out and a subsequent punt, Cincinnati: Palmer completes a 66-yard bomb to Chris Henry while taking a cheap shot and leaving the game. The Cheaters were LOSING at halftime with Kitna running the show. The game took on an entirely different look with Palmer out–you’re an idiot if you deny that. Secondly, I seem to remember Palmer splitting the Bengals-Cheaters series in both 2005 and 2006, with the Bengals winning both times in Pittsburgh. I’d hardly call that “ownership”. The times that the Cheaters swept the Bengals were in Palmer’s first year as a starter (2004), 2007 (which I’ll give the Cheaters credit that year), and last season in which Palmer was OUT injured for both games. Get your facts straight before you talk illogical noise, dolt.

    —————————————-
No, a “dope” is someone who says the “Bengals would have won that game for SURE if Palmer doesn’t go down” based on ONE stinkin’ pass completed at the BEGINNING of a game. What, you KNOW for a fact the Bengals win that if Palmer finishes the game? What, you have some magic psychic powers? Seriously, tell me how!
I wouldn’t have a problem if you had said “probably win” even, but for so many Bungals fans, it’s we WOULD HAVE WON. As in “guaranteed.” As in, “wow are we a bunch of arrogant dopes!”
    Now let’s look at facts:
    1. Carson Palmer has NEVER, in his entire career, beaten the Steelers in Cincinnati.
    2. The game was played in Cincinnati.
Oh yeah, it’s SO logical then, that the Bengals win that game if Palmer had finished huh? Yeah, a real lock.
    What was that about “dopes”?
P.S. And yes, the Steelers do own Carson Palmer.

First of all, the Bungles lead at halftime was courtesy of Kitna, not Palmer, so your point makes no sense. Also, Carson himself later said, of his former teammate Kimo, that he didn’t think it was a cheap shot…now go sell your tix to a fellow member of SteelerNation so we can take over your stadium again this fall!

He had 28 completions in 32 attempts in preseason play and hadn’t missed on any of his 11 throws last Saturday when Chargers strong safety Rodney Harrison dove into Green’s left knee, tearing two ligaments and sidelining Green for the season. St. Louis players considered the hit a cheap shot.”

To be totally honest ourselves here, the Bengals offense looked fine the ENTIRE first half, and Palmer was out after just their first offensive series. In the first half, they scored on 3/4 possessions – their only punt was with 1:25 left to go in the half. I’m not sure you can make the case that “the game took on an entirely different look with Palmer out” when Kitna ran the offense just fine the entire first half (again, minus Palmer’s series).
The honest truth is that the game took on an entirely different look after halftime. Chalk it up to whatever you want: maybe the Steelers defense adjusted to Kitna at halftime, maybe the fiasco with Chad in the locker room had an effect, I honestly don’t know. But, in my eyes, if Palmer leaving the game early in the first quarter changed its complexion as you claim, why isn’t there any evidence of it until after halftime?

  103. hayward giablommi says: Jul 29, 2009 5:01 PM

    @ Frank Burns
My initial post was to discuss my feelings on Bobby Wade, who is a prominent subject of this article. It’s laughable that you feel the need to go off on tangents to spew your self righteous diatribes regarding Rodney Harrison.
Fact is, Bobby Wade intentionally speared Harrison’s knees, resulting in him being out for the season. It was not a nationally televised game, so I doubt many people saw or recall the play. Nonetheless, you (apparently) feel another player intentiuonally injuring another is justified if the injured player in question has a reputation or has injured players on other team. Lucky your guy Ryan Clark didn’t paralyze Willis McGahee or Wes Welker with his headhunting last year, because by your logic it would then be open season on Clark by players of every team.

  104. Frank Burns says: Jul 29, 2009 5:08 PM

No Hayward, I, like so many others on the site, are merely pointing out the hilarious HYPOCRISY of you whining about, of all things, a knee shot on Rodney Harrison. It has nothing to do with the Bears, Steelers or any other team.
    It’s all about YOU buddy.

  105. Frank Burns says: Jul 29, 2009 5:14 PM

And speaking of hypocrisy, Bengals fans, refer back to the game in Pittsburgh earlier that season — when a player named Odell Thurman dove right at Roethlisberger’s knees, in classic knee-shot style.
Back then, Bengals fans were all about telling Steelers fans to “shut up and stop whining, it’s football, go watch tennis if you don’t like it.”
And then came the playoff game. And the longest whine fest in the history of whining. As evidenced by these whiners still whining about Palmer today.

  106. hayward giablommi says: Jul 29, 2009 5:39 PM

    Ok Frank, buddy.
It’s hard to take a Steelers fan seriously when you “whine” about Harrison taking out Trent Green’s knees, “whine” about Thurman diving at Roethlisberger’s knees…because when Tom Brady got knocked out for the year week 1, no fan base took more pleasure and joy in his injury than Pittsburgh. I seem to recall “Bernard Pollard fan club” T-shirts being distributed…you guessed it, out of Steeler country. I believe the term is “schadenfreude”?
Now Frank, you may not have been one of those people, in which case I would ask, where was your moral outrage at not only Pollard taking out Brady’s knees, and where was your righteous indignation at your fellow fans for so overtly and dispicably cheering a rival’s injury?
Please explain and justify your hypocrisy. Regards.

  107. hayward giablommi says: Jul 29, 2009 5:49 PM

By the way Frank, just as many NFL fanbases laughably attempt to claim the Patriots championships are “tainted” (which is hilarious), many also discredit Pittsburgh’s two championships this decade.
I am not one of those people. But with that said, I would respect the Steelers even that much more had either of those championship runs gone through New England, as Indy’s did.
Your 2005 team did not, because the Pats D melted down that year. Your 2008 did not, in part because the defense was nonexistant, but also because of Brady’s injury. And that makes the glee that came out of Pittsburgh week 1 last year really unfortunate. Your fellow fans would rather be the best team by default rather than beating the best. That tells me a lot.

Don’t really remember the Odell shot you refer to, but, oh well. I also don’t really remember Carson calling Kimo’s hit a legit one, but again this must be in that annoying, illiterate little bubble that you Douche Bags call “Cheater nation”. I only seem to remember that Carson was quoted as hating the Cheaters (for both the cheap shot AND he admitted being envious of their success). You are correct, I should have said “probably would have won the game”, as I’m no soothsayer. Again, you would be an ignorant ass to think that that game wouldn’t have had a different outcome with Palmer in the game, whether it be the Bengals lose by a closer score or they Cincy ends up beating Pittsburgh. The point I made was that Cincy’s second offensive play from scrimmage was a 66-yard bomb setting the tone for the game. Kitna took them to a lead thanks to that play from Palmer. I would also argue that Palmer beating Pittsburgh on the road is a greater feat to accomplish than that of beating them at home, but maybe that’s just me. I also can’t believe that you’d call Carson a “choker”. There is no track record of him being “un-clutch” in either college nor the pros. He’s never blown games, but rather kept the team competitive and in games due to a lousy defense. Call it “whining” if you will, but many Cheater fans I know out here in SoCal digress to say that it was a questionable shot at best and that the game most likely would have went the Bengals’ way. Regardless, I will always hate your team, their attitudes and the way their classless fanbase conduct themselves. Book it: It all changes this year. Bengals at the very least split with the Cheaters, go 10-6 and go to the playoffs.

You should thank the commish for destroying the additional evidence & for not adding an asterisk to all Cheatriot accomplishments, as most unbiased fans know to be deserving of your classless organization, then again what else could he do, since questionable integrity would be financial suicide for the cash cow that is the NFL!

Before you read this post, do yourself a favor & put down that ManRag you’re drooling all over with your man crush ShadyBrady on it, afterall, it’s obvious to all, that your username is some sort of Patsy code that serves as an offer of which you are extending to TommyBoy. I only ask that you do so as it will allow you a better chance to retort in a somewhat intelligent manner, instead of spewing your usual nonsensical bile!
Now wipe you mouth & see if you can enlighten me on the following:
If practicing illegal tactics, for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage, is not paramount to the success of your Cheatriots, then how do you explain the fact that the QB who is responsible for that success, was not even talented enough to start regularly at the collegiate level of competition & in the rare instance that he did, he was rather pedestrian, at best! You see, players who ride the pine in college, DO NOT go onto H-O-F careers at the Pro level & if you don’t agree, then please show me where the precedent is…FACT is that ShadyBrady has been the recipient of having an unfair advantage throughout his career, as it has been proven that BeliCHEAT’s illegal practices can be traced as far back as his days as H.C. of the CleveBrownies, although he didn’t cheat quite as well then, as evidenced by Vinny Intercetaverde’s record during his tenure there.
Further proving my contention is the FACT that said Cheatriots, somehow managed a double digit win season, while starting a QB who’s pre-NFL accomplishments are even more remotely improbable, since that stiff hadn’t started an organized game of football since High School! So please, master of all things* football, can you help a brother out & try to clear up some of my confusion regarding this matter?
    * since the current millenium (afterall, the NFL never existed prior to that, if for no other reason than because the N.E. Patsies were irrelevant before then)

I’ve heard this lame claim by Patriots fans many times, and it still never fails to make me chuckle.
By your logic, none of your Super Bowls are “legit” because your guys didn’t beat the Denver Broncos, the team that owns you in general. I’d have to say that I’d “respect” the Patriots if they’d actually beaten Denver in the playoffs, but hey… they couldn’t. So I guess then I shouldn’t, right?
The Steelers were waiting for your boys back in ’05, but as usual they couldn’t beat the Broncos — the same Broncos the Steeler rag-dolled the following week cruising to the Bowl. Is it the Steelers’ fault your guys just can’t beat Denver?
As for last year, you admit your D wasn’t up to snuff, and hey, let’s face it, the Steelers laid quite a whoopin’ on your boys at home — last I look Brady doesn’t play D, and the Steelers showed they were capable of pouring on the points on your boys at home. So spare me the “we wouldas” you’re starting to sound just like the Bengals whiner here.

    Jonesy,
Not sayin’ you don’t have a point regarding Cutler, but you won’t find many, if any, Steeler die hards that would trade Ben for Philip. As for knowing football, you like many, obviously put more emphasis on fantasy stats, than you do on winning, which ultimately is what I care about.
Btw…career passer rating Philip (92.9) Ben (89.4), big difference there, huh? Even less (Ben = 95.2) if you take Ben’s ’06 season out of the equation, since he dealt with more trauma during that season than most do their entire careers.
There is a HUGE difference in one catergory when comparing the two, leadership, where Ben’s 2 Super Bowl titles trumps anything Philip has accomplished in his career to date. To be fair, I’ll give you this: Ben fell into the Steeler’s lap, as Cowher(d) was enamored with Philip leading up to the ’04 draft, with one of the reasons being that they are fellow N.C. St. alums.

    http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05342/618972.stm
Ben Roethlisberger escaped another knee injury when rookie Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman hit him low in the second quarter of their game Sunday and was penalized for roughing the passer.
Yes, and unlike Kimo, Odell was PENALIZED for the cheap shot. How’s that for the uh, “illiterate little bubble” you claim we live in. Whoops!
More like the Bungal Bubble you live in, where reality isn’t part of life now, is it? PENALIZED!!!
And yes, even Palmer said the hit wasn’t intentional or cheap:

Von Oelhoffen later apologized publicly for the hit. Though Palmer confirmed that von Oelhoffen never contacted him personally to apologize, Palmer forgave him stating that the injury was, “just part of the game.”
If Palmer says it, maybe you whiners should start facing the truth too.

Getting back on point, Wade couldn’t catch a cold in Chicago…his last season there (’05), he managed to snag 10 passes. Sadly, he also had 10 fumbles, thanks to his sparkling special-teams efforts. And the fact that he had more catches with the Vikes in ’08 than any Bears wideout is dampened by the fact that all of ‘em, even Rashied Davis, had a better average-per-catch. Though he HAS figured out how to catch, it’s not surprising that he’s still the same chicken-s*** PoS he was in Chicago. Be sure the equipment man gives you a helmet that swivels twice this year, Bobby!

I love comments like this — what, you have a direct line to the NFL owners? You took a poll?
    Ha ha!
At this point, Rivers is watching film of Ben to learn how to win a championship someday. Ben’s led a team all the way twice, which means, like it or not, Rivers isn’t fit to carry Ben’s jock at this point.
In the clutch, when it matters, there’s no question you want Ben over Rivers. Ben’s proven, Rivers, still unproven.
Ben’s skill set is superior to Rivers, who’s one dimensional. Sorry, homer.
Ben is greater than Rivers, overall. Deal with it.

    ROFL,
Ben isnt even close to as good as rivers, thats hilarious how you call someone a homer but you are obviously the homer cause everyone knows rivers is a much better qb. ben is so overated, defense won championships, ben barely managed.

    Frank,
It’s really great when I listen to experts who have to re-visit the 2004 draft and they ask who they’d take between Eli, Ben, and Rivers- and most people say RIVERS even though the other two guys played on teams that won a SB COLLECTIVELY AS A UNIT.
I never put down Ben or his rings. Not once. But please do not sit there in front of your computer and try to lie to yourself, let alone me.
Do some web searches about expert’s opinions on the draft, and you will find plenty of Rivers supporters.
To say that just because Ben has won the SB, that it makes him better is SO retarded on so many levels. Nobody is going to defend Marino’s legacy… or other great QBs that never won a SB. Dumb argument.
And you’ll notice that nobody except SixBurghDude, an obvious Pitt fan who would defend his boy to the end (and I can respect that, it’s the non-partials that obviously agree with me) would take your side.
The comment about Rivers watching Ben’s tape is seriously the funniest thing I’ve read on here all day. ROFLMFAO. Thanks for the chuckle.

    Retarded Bob and Empire Boy:
I have to laugh when you act like Rivers’s supposed “superiority” over Ben is like some accepted fact or something.
The FACT is that Rivers is perceived as being carried his first couple years by Tomlinson, that he was the ultimate hand-off boy game manager get-out-of-the-way QB. THAT you can look up.
In his first playoff run, Ben put up 125 rating games while his running game couldn’t even manage a lousy 3 yards a carry. THAT is called carrying a team, which Rivers hasn’t proven he can do yet. So spare me the attitude.
And sorry, when you lead one of the greatest Super Bowl drives ever, you tend to get ranked a little higher than most other QBs. Maybe Rivers hasn’t had a “fair” chance to show he can do that too, but that’s not Roethlisberger’s fault.
Here’s the FACT — you poll GMs as to which QB they want after Manning or Brady, and they say Roethlisberger.
P.S. “Collectively as a unit” my butt — the Steeler run game DISAPPEARED during both Super Bowl runs. And the defense broke down at the end of the last Super Bowl. Guess who stepped up both times? Yeah you know.

Ben won Super Bowl XLIII, in a manner that only 2 others have, by driving their team to a game winning TD in the final min. of a Super Bowl, and was it’s rightful MVP. Although you won’t admit it, you know it or you’re a FOOL…if Ben’s surname were either Brady or Manning he would have won MVP!
Now, before you start your rant about SBXL, know this; Ben’s teammates wouldn’t have been in the position to win that one for him, if he didn’t tear it up on the road to 40 (don’t take my word for it, look it up). But you you wouldn’t know that, cause most fantasy leagues don’t continue thru the playoffs & since your boy Philip (with one L) was home wishing he were B.B.R., I seriously doubt that you watched the playoffs.
59 wins in 5 years, 19 via 4th qtr. comeback, only an idiot would argue against those numbers!
Did I mention that Philip Rivers’ throwing motion is similar to my daughter’s, not EXACTLY sound mechanics, but you already knew that casue you’re an EXPERT on all things QB. Truth be told, you come off as just another TOOL who puts more emphasis on what a player can do for their fantasy team, than what they can for the team they support, otherwise you would value WINNING as much as any of us who couldn’t care less about any stat except W/L .

It’s a well know fact in NFL lore, that even before the AFL/NFL merger in 1970, at a time when the Steelers were considered the doormats of the league, opposing players knew that although they walked onto the field to face them, there was less certainty about whether they would be able to walk off, than whether they’d win the game, you played the Steelers, you paid your pound of flesh…I love that about my team & i’ts history, which is why you will never convince me that our QB, who makes more plays than anyone after contact, & more plays than most, all the time, is not superior to yours & I didn’t even mention that he’s WON more Super Bowls & WON more Playoff games for us than EVERY other QB in the NFL since he’s been in the league. We wouldn’t trade him for any other cause he’s like the city he represents, we’re not afraid to get dirty, if that’s what it takes to get the job done. So good luck with your imaginary team & I’ll have a blast bleedin’ Black & gold!!!

    SixBurghDude,
Wow. Nice insults. I guess that’s what you need to type when you run out of ways to defend your thoughts.
I never once put you or Ben down other than to say that Rivers is a better QB.
And he is- look at any stats you want.
You can claim I am a “Stat Boy”… but numbers are the only fair way to measure two players.
Statisically Rivers was better in every single QB category. Pittsburgh was below 20th in passing, and 24th in total offense. They have an epic defense. But the QB doesn’t play on defense.
The ONLY thing he has is rings… and I would always argue that his D brought the Steelers more glory than he did.
Rivers is just flat out better, period. Ben has had the benefit of the best supporting cast in the league.
River’s receivers pale in comparison. Ben has Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes, Nate Washington, and Heath Miller. Ben has 2 super bowl MVP’s at WR!
Ben has never had to deal with the crap that Rivers had from his D. The Chargers D was one of the worst this season, they gave back 4 wins, 3 of which after Rivers lead them all the way back. Ben had the #1 D in every category.
Factor in those things, then compare stats. You’d think Ben would be head and shoulders above, but it’s not the case.
    Rivers:
    TD- 34
    INT- 11
    TD%- 7.1
    INT%- 2.3
    Yards- 4009
    Comp%- 65.3
    YPA- 8.39
    QB Rating- 105.5
    Big Ben:
    TD- 17
    INT- 15
    TD%- 3.6
    INT%- 3.2
    Yards- 3301
    Comp%- 59.9%
    YPA- 7.04
    QB Rating- 80.1
Sure, he had a wonderful drive at the end of the Arizona game. But he also stunk up the joint so bad in his first SB appearance that it was pathetic.
And I don’t mean that as a put-down like you are so fond of- 99% of NFL fans would agree on that.
Better hope to God Rivers never get his ring- or the only stat you have to lean on will crack like his hotel bed when he’s putting the moves on an unwilling chick. Okay, there was one insult. You got me. Actually, not really an insult when he settles out of court. I take that back.
So go ahead, type away your insults all you want. It’s all you have.
(Oh yeah, you also have your six rings. I get it. It’s in your SN. How could I forget?)

Lets remember something… The host, Paul Allen, of the show that Wade was on in Minneapolis is the radio voice of the Queens. Florio has been on his show every week for I don’t know how long; he has told Allen that he is a Vikings fan. Allen drools all over himself whenever Florio is on, (Best website ever… kind of how Madden feels about Farve). Allen has said several times that he hates the Bears. Seems that he can’t take the heckling the fans give him when he is there to do a game, he really hates it when you yell at him while in the press box doing a call.(Anyone with seats near there in Chicago, keep that in mind). So is it really any big surprise that this blew up like it did. Right after Allen guaranteed that Favre would be in camp by Thursday and Favre decided to wait until he did not have to do the work and he could get even MORE attention. Allen was trying to deal with the fact that the 2 QBs they have are backups for life. The next day he was bragging about how Wade just split the Bears locker room and how happy he was. He was bragging about how Wade is his new favorite player and now they don’t have to worry about the Bears, since the offense and defense will be at each other’s throat, due to those comments. Nice try PA, “Chicago is a tough guy town” that drama only works in Minneapolis. Where’s your first round pick???

This year I was going to buy several dozen “pacifiers”, and throw one at him every time he screws up, which happens frequently during every game. But fortunately, the Bronco’s traded the big cry baby and now Chicago is stuck with a this big “PUSSY”.

    ==================================
Dewey Axewound, I found your post and didn’t need to read another because you totally hit the nail on the head.
Of course he said it to stir up trouble somewhere else other than Viking Land.
When you have everyone and their dog talking about Favre and how he will lead Minny to the promised land, and then he is a no show.
Oh no, the Vikings will suck forever. The qb’s they have can’t get it done, this season is a wash.
The players need something to take their minds of the circus and laugh about something else before training camp starts.
Did it happen? I have no idea. Should Wade have repeated it? Probably not.
Am I glad he did? HELL YES!
    Go Vikings!

    Jonesy,
Only problem with your argument is that the one stat that TRUMPS all others is where Ben excels most…WINS. If those wins are ALL because of defense & running game then how is it that OVER 30%, of those record 59 WINS are via 4th qtr. comeback, engineered by him on 19 different occassions? Also, if you were a true fan & watched all playoff games, you would realize that he doesn’t even have the opportunity in SBXL, if not for HIS performance in the three road games that got them there, don’t believe me STAT guy? Look it up!
In addition, you need to be fair, as your entire argument is based on the ’08 season, & Ben still had a better year since he was crowned Champ.
Check ’07 & I GUARANTEE Ben’s numbers dwarfed those that Philip put up.
As we know, ’06 was a year of trauma for Ben, so I’ll give that year to your boy.
Again, ’05 goes to Ben as the numbers are similar & Ben wins the title.
Surely you wouldn’t compare Philip’s mediocre rookie campaign to the record setting one Ben put up, or maybe you would your logic is a bit off kilter.
By my count Ben has Philip in 4 of 5 yrs., but the biggest disparity between the two, besides the 2 titles of course, is that while Ben has proven to be a leader of men, Philip acts like a spoiled child on the gridiron.
As for the receivers (WR & TE) I agree but the edge is only a slight one because of Gates, Philip has actually been the beneficiary of a bigger disparity in not only the running game but the o-line as well, over the 5 yrs. they’ve been in the league together & the Bolt D has not lacked for talent since Philip has been there either.
One last point that too often is overlooked is the one that provides Philip with ideal weather conditions with which to operate in at least 10 games per year, while Ben plays at least 6 games in harsh weather each year. Which situation would you say is more conducive to posting the bigger fantasy numbers that you & so many others are so enamored with?

Response: All I am going to say is if you want o credit Ben with winning the first SB, think again. He got lucky. Sure, he played great to get his team in the game, but he played horrible in that game… he didn’t “win” the SB.
In addition, you need to be fair, as your entire argument is based on the ’08 season, & Ben still had a better year since he was crowned Champ.
Response: Please, do not say that Ben had a better season in terms of “QB” because he won the SB. Rivers was the top-rated QB for all but one week of the season I believe, Romo beat him by like 1% for one week.
Check ’07 & I GUARANTEE Ben’s numbers dwarfed those that Philip put up.
Response: You want to compare Ben’s best season to River’s LOL? Print and compare.
As we know, ’06 was a year of trauma for Ben, so I’ll give that year to your boy.
Response: Yes, the “face” of your franchise made a dumb, incredibly selfish decision that nearly cost your team it’s franchise player, let alone his life.
Again, ’05 goes to Ben as the numbers are similar & Ben wins the title.
Response: Yes, Ben was awarded a SB ring for being the QB on that day… even though he sucked.
Surely you wouldn’t compare Philip’s mediocre rookie campaign to the record setting one Ben put up, or maybe you would your logic is a bit off kilter.
Sure, let compare River’s rookie season, going 14-2, to Ben’s rookie campaign. Forget 2005 vs. 2005, compare “rookie” to “rookie” and it’s not even close.
By my count Ben has Philip in 4 of 5 yrs., but the biggest disparity between the two, besides the 2 titles of course, is that while Ben has proven to be a leader of men, Philip acts like a spoiled child on the gridiron.
Response: Rivers is a hero. He played more hurt in the AFCCC two seasons ago than any other player I can think of ever. It could of been career threatening. What’s more spoiled? Riding a motorcycle wiuthout a helmet? Isn’t that a little retarded???? And once he settles with the hotel chick, it will add even more “retard fuel” to the fire. Let’s not trade jabs about character. Rivers is a family man, he never trashes his teammates and is clean off the field. Whatever dude.
Response: If you are trying to say Parker isn’t a great RB, or you don’t have a sizeable advantage in WR talent, don’t know what to say to change your mind. Ask a smart fan and they’ll agree with you. LT was hurt all year which caused Rivers to have to rely on his arm even more and he ended the top-rated passer with average WRs and a banged-up LT.
Response: If you are going to look at weather, sure I’ll grant you that. SD is gorgeous weather for football. I’ll give you that one.
I guiess we could go on and on, but we’ll just agree to disagree. Good luck this season and I’m looking forward to week 4!

    Jonesy, Jonsey, Jonesy-
Thx. for taking each point out of context & spinning them in your boy’s direction, I’ll try my best to address your biggest foibles:
    > never said Ben “won” SBXL, but he did do several things along the way that Philip no doubt dreams to have achieved, such as getting his team there (afterall, how many times has your fantasy stat compiler “played great to get his team in the game”?) & became the youngest Super Bowl WINNING QB of All-Time……debate that!
    > the same can be said (notwithstanding the fact that Philip didn’t win anything in Ben’s best year) of Ben’s ’07 season as Philip’s ’08, when ShadyBrady & BeliCHEAT took full advantage of the edge they gained via illegal practices for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage, in running up score after score……and that!
    > Hello! THEY WERE BOTH ROOKIES IN THE SAME YEAR!!! But you want to give Philip the added advantage of being able to sit & learn a year, while Ben was thrown into the fire? Btw, all he did was set record after record (passing records, not just wins, look it up STAT guy) and didn’t lose a game until the AFC title game (WINNING HIS 1st 14 STARTS), where the Cheatriots put their deplorable tactics into play (as per the NFL’s statement)…c’mon dude!
    > You might THINK Rivers is a hero, but I know Ben has taken more hits than ANY QB in the league since both have been in the league, yet all he does is WIN. Put your boy behind the Steeler o-line & see how he’d WILT! FYI, Pa. does NOT have helmet laws & you want to give Philip an edge because he chose to get hitched in college?…let’s hear it!
    > Best example of taking my points out of context is your basing LT vs. FWP on 1 season, when you knew it would be insane to remotely think that FWP is in the same zip code LT over the past 5 years inclusive. Although FWP has LT in heart by a longshot, LT is the polar opposite of what most would call a gamer…EXPOSED!
    > What? No mention of the HUGE disparity in o-lines??? Smart!!!
No doubt if Phily boy & his Bolts finally find a way to get by the defending CHAMPS in wk.4, you’ll no doubt be the first one on here, with your sack pumped up to the size of a basketball, even if Ben puts up better numbers in a loss, NO???

Not sure what a lot of your comments mean? I can’t decode the ebonics/Twitter or whatever that’s supposed to be.
Every time I try to end this and wrap it up, you always have more comments and insults. For a guy with all the confidence and rings you seem pretty insecure.
I admit it. You have a genius QB. Rivers makes more off-the field poor decisions. Ben’s offseason choices with motorcycles, women, and showing up in questionable shape as has been reported recently, pales in comparison to Rivers working hard in the offseason, keeping himself clean, and spending time with his wife and children. You win man. I see the light.
And numbers? It doesn’t matter that Rivers led the league in most categories. It really doesn’t. Ben led the league in the only category that matters- winning the SB.
No problem. I am a believer now. You have the better QB and the rings to prove it.
End of story. And no, I am not a gloater. If we win, I will be happy… obviously. But I’ll leave the nut-sack swinging to you.
