Collins will be on time for camp

Thumbnail image for NFL_collins.jpgDuring offseason practices, there is a lot of conjecture about who will and who won't hold out of training camp.  In most cases, they show up rather than risk a hefty daily fine.

Packers safety Nick Collins is one of those cases.

In fairness to Collins, his presence at Packers camp was basically expected all along.

Collins isn't happy about his contract and was noncommittal about showing to camp on time, but he was in attendance at Green Bay's mandatory minicamp last month.  (He skipped most of the OTAs.)

Collins will report with the rest of his teammates on Friday.  Coach Mike McCarthy didn't sound concerned about him last month, despite having a new defensive system to learn.

"I feel like his heart and mind are in the right place, and he wants to play some football," McCarthy said.

Collins is due to make $3.045 million this season, the final year of his rookie contract.

Meanwhile, in the alternate reality that the Favre Is God, Thompson Must Die cult wishes that we were living in: But the Packers' far bigger worry is now the quarterback position following the retirement of Brett Favre. Having lost former first round draft choice Aaron Rodgers to free agency, Green Bay must weigh the merits of either bringing in a "street" free agent or making a trade for someone to compete with Matt Flynn for the starting job.
Me, I'm happier in this world.

While in the alternate world that the Favre Is God, Thompson Must Die crowd wishes we lived in: The bigger problem obviously for the Packers is to find a starting quarterback following Brett Favre's retirement. Having lost Aaron Rodgers in free agency, the Packers will either have to sign a "street" free agent or make a trade for a veteran to compete with Matt Flynn for the starting job.
Me, I like the real world better.

Sage is a solid QB. I expect him to do good things.

First down, turn around, hand it to AP, gain of 4.
Second down, throw 5 yard screen pass.
Third down, turn around, hand it to AP, gain of 7.
    FIRST DOWN!

    Rinse and repeat.

whoops.... rinse repeat on the Sage post... How in the bloody hell did I get here?

In fairness to me, PackAttack referencing the Great Favre probably threw me off. Or the beer in my hand, either/or.

Geez, did the Saints make the playoffs?

then why re-live one week of a long NFL season?

because living in your mom's basement, flipping burgers at Wendy's and having a sex life of dating Rosy Palm and her five lovely daughters isn't quite what you thought it would be. Loser

Jimmy- it has nothing to do with the Saints, and everything to do with the Packers sorry defense. I mean they suck, an offense that was top ten and 6 wins? Loser? I own my own carpentry co. and its doin well. Own my house, married for 21 yrs, 3 kids and a grandson. Thanks for asking.
Gobias- You dont think he should be in? Look at the stats, undeniably the best hands ever. Did you ever see him play? Or see the hilight reels, cause there are plenty of them!!!
