Laurinaitis agrees with Rams

As few first-round picks agree to terms, a guy who was supposed to be a first-round pick but ended up being a second-round pick has agreed to terms.

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams have agreed to terms with linebacker James Laurinaitis, formerly of Ohio State.

It’s a four-year deal.

Per Thomas, the Rams also are making progress with tackle Jason Smith, the second overall selection in the entire draft.

  1. Go RAAAAAAAAAAMS!!!!!!
If our defense is weak against the run again we’ll just call up the Road Warriors tag team and they’ll lay the smackdown for us. haha
I’m excited to see this guy in the middle of our D for 10 years to come. (Hope I didn’t just jinx him)

  2. this kid is a true class act by all accounts, but his football skill set is purely media (in particular brent musberger) driven.

  3. But how will Laurinaitis ever be able to live up previous Buckeye linebackers play in the NFL?
Did A.J. Hawk retire yet or do they still let him put on a uniform and stand around?

  4. It’s a deal made with the likes of Hacksaw Reynolds and London Fletcher in mind !!! Go Rams Go !!! Smack Chick Chazzz

  5. Pulling for James but I’m an old school wrestling fan and everyone was a fan of The Legion of Doom The Road Warriors Animal and Hawk……… LOD LOD LOD LOD LOD LOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. No one is “supposed to be” a first round pick unless they actually are.
The media doesn’t assign draft positions, the 32 NFL Front Offices do.
Quite frankly, I’m surprised Pile Jumper went as high as he did.
