Free-agent receiver Matt Jones said today that his agent has talked to four teams. As to the Cowboys, it's accurate.
But what's also accurate, per our pal Tim MacMahon of the Dallas Morning News, is that the conversation consisted of the Cowboys telling agent Dave Butz that . . . they . . . don't . . . want . . . Matt Jones.
As Gregg Rosenthal pointed out earlier today, the fact that Jones was on pace for 1,000 receiving yards last season makes the lack of interest in him unusual. Then again, a reputation for lackadaisical play coupled with an incident last year involving alleged possession of a drug that makes a guy anything but lackadaisical likely are combining to keep teams from giving the 2005 first-round pick any, um, sniffs.

Packing a little nose candy is a start, but Matt will need to have a conviction or two under his belt before Jerruh will give serious consideration to signing him.
Nobody wants a new guy coming in and screwing with the established supplier.

i think matt jones is perfect wild cat player
this is what is wrong with PFT, instead of running the fact the jaguars signed 3 draft picks today, instead they run this crap about a player the jaguars cut and then call it Jaguar news. nice
I vow to call attention to Dave Butz, wherever his name shall appear. Best United Way spot ever.

You just can't get the EAGLES off your mind can you?
It sounds like an obsession, maybe you should talk to a professional about it.
Are you still covered under your moms insurance? it could be costly.
Why would the Cowgirls want Jones? They already have an overpaid WR that can't get open in Roy Williams. I would think Jones wouldn't want to go to Dallas, doesn't he aspire to play for a team that might actually have a chance to win a playoff game? Judging from the last decade, that ain't Dallas.
Dallas need to stay away from the thugs
