PFT's Aaron Wilson has been told by a league source that Seahawks guard Mike Wahle is more than
likely to retire.
Nothing is final yet, but there are strong indications that it doesn't look good for Wahle.
Wahle was scheduled to undergo a physical Friday. He has struggled to recover from a shoulder injury and it was believed he was at serious risk of failing the physical.
In a related move, the Seahawks officially signed Cory Withrow Friday, according to his agent's Twitter account.
Withrow will help fill the gap left left by Wahle. Second-round pick Max Unger will be even more vital to the team.
Wahle's best days came with the Packers, where he made a Pro Bowl.
Packers G.M. Ted Thompson was sharply criticized for letting Wahle and teammate Marco Rivera walk after the 2004 season, but both offensive linemen struggled away from Green Bay.
Wahle expected to retire

Welcome to the Hawks Cory!
Dead Thompson wasn't criticized for letting them go as much as he was for not finding anyone even half as good to replace them, in fact he still hasn't.
Expect another 6-10 season in GB.
Clear the way for the niners pass rush..great decision Wahle
florio, how about some font control...
Packers Packers Packers...
Blah blah blah...
Worst fans ever....
No fat chicks
Good thing they drafted Unger! Had they been really smart they would have used both of the top picks on the O line...Still with the way Spencer, and Sims have turned out, Who knows? Not looking great for Hass' fragile old ass.
This Withrow guy looks like another guy that can't stay healthy. Good thing the D should be stout, seeings they'll be on the field 2/3's of the game! Timmy just can't figure out needs, or talent on the offensive side of the ball...
If Thompson had listened to Favre these guys could have both struggled and flamed out in GB. This was one of the issues Favre was complaining about last summer. Thompson succeeding in replacing them is another thing...
No worries.... Unger can handle the load.
Thompson's a genius. Both guards were way overpriced. Wahle still had some gas left in the tank, but not much. And not nearly worth what he got paid.

Wahle was excellent in Carolina. He did nothing close to struggling. That's a silly comment.

Both were good moves in hindsight, just like not letting Favre force his way back into GB at the last second after HE retired.
I bet if Brett played for the Packers last year and would have gotten to slurp Favre's nuts, bum arm and all, Ted would have made a brilliant decision to let both guards go. To say otherwise would be ridiculous.....
@Burritto,
Wahle was so excellent in Carolina that they cut him after deciding he wasn't worth the big $$$ they paid him to finish out his contract?

More revisionist history from Florio and his gang. Wahle went to the Pro Bowl in 2005.
Can Florio and his underlings just ONCE do a little research first before they post bogus info. on this site and look foolish ??? Hey Gregg - if you don't know, take like 8 seconds and look things up. What an amateur.
