16 down, 16 to go

Despite the recent uptick in the signing of first-round picks, there’s still one unsigned first-rounder for every one that has agreed to terms.

So while 16 players have gotten their first-round rookie deals, 16 haven’t.

[Editor's note:  Actually, at the time we posted this, 17 had signed.  We missed Larry English.]

The full, updated (as of a minute ago) list is right here.

And since we’re in the neighborhood, we’ll jump onto the soapbox for a bit and talk directly to the agents who have the 16 guys who aren’t signed.

Please remember that it’s about your current clients, not your future clients.  Set aside whether the contract your current client signs will help you or hurt you when it comes to recruiting the next crop of first-year players.

We know that it’s difficult to do this, given the nature of the business.  Still, we encourage you to consider the right thing and the wrong thing, and to choose accordingly.

UPDATE:  It’s now up to 17 18, due to the Nicks deal.  And it possibly will continue to climb quickly.

Damn, Florio gets on his soapbox, and the agents listen. Without you speach, I’m sure Nicks would never have signed.
Can you try telling Al Davis to get some front office help while you are up there?

No kidding, Mike. If an agent or agency hasn’t made his/their bones by now it’s never going to happen.
