Durability concerns likely caused running back Beanie Wells to slide to the bottom of the first round of the 2009 draft.
And on the same day he signed a rookie contract and got to work, Beanie got hurt.
He was carted off the field with a left leg injury, according to the team’s official web site.
His status for Sunday’s practice isn’t known. But any time the term “cart” is used in the football context without “golf” in front of it, there’s reason to be pessimistic.
Of course. Typical OSU bust !
There goes my fantasy football team. Looks like Edge might be comming back!
I hope there was some clause that said the guy has to make it through at least one practice before we pay him lol
Injuries suck.
Not surprising, although it is unfortunate.
Seahawks will take back the division title anyway.
He can be on Steven Colbert’s next multi-part series… “Better know an tOSU Bust.”
FumbleNuts says:
Seahawks will take back the division title anyway.
True that, Beanie is a weenie, this will be the jist of his short lived NFL career, always nursing some injury while watching from the sidelines. Why does anyone draft players from Ohio State?

Here’s the list of 1st round OSU draft picks going back to 2004:
Vernon Gholston
Ted Ginn Jr.
Anthony Gonzalez
A. J. Hawk
Donte Whitner
Bobby Carpenter
Santonio Holmes
Nick Mangold
Will Smith
Chris Gamble
Michael Jenkins
It’s not bust free, but I can guarantee you this list looks much better than many other high-profile schools.
Mr. Florio, perhaps you could have reminded some of us, somewhere in this posting, that Beanie is now with the Arizona Cardinals. Some of us had forgotten where the new “Tracy McGrady of the NFL” had landed.
mborz, BetterthanMlive did not mention first round. I believe he is right. OSU draft pix have traditionally sucked. Period. Not just the 1st round suckies………..
The OSU haters leave out guys like Joey Galloway, Eddie George, Orlando Pace, Mike Vrabel, Terry Glenn, Robert Smith, and Cris Carter.

@ 305phinphan
if your fantasy team’s success was counting on Wells then your fantasy team was already screwed before he went down.
Typical shallow thinking from Mlive… as if “his” school never had any bust, or drug addicts, or convicts come out of it. Wake up, every school is littered with that. Why Buckeye fans feel the need to stoop down and list our alum is mystery.
I do however think of UM every time Braylon drops an easy catch. Word is he is now hurt from playing hoops… usually prohibited in pro contracts!
Why is anybody from the state up north saying anything about OSU? You all have 2,080 reasons to shut your face.
Penn State is fast becoming the REAL rivalry with Ohio St, so enjoy your history and your spread offense.
everyone forgets mo-clo
@LastYooper: He didn’t specifically mention the first round, but he did say “bust”. And people don’t typically talk about bust unless it’s a high round pick. If someone is a third round pick, about the only way they’re going to be called a bust is if they don’t even make the team. So even though he didn’t say “first round”, common sense says we’re only talking about high draft picks.
If you really want, I’ll go grab the second rounders too. And I will again say that OSU’s list will look much better than other “elite” programs.
Rather than continuing to press your case with no data, why don’t you pick your team and do the same thing I did, then post the list?
Hmmm, I hear the Raiders have extra backs…Justin Fargus.
We will see with this wells guy
