So we’ve wrapped up the first month of our relationship with NBC, and to date it has been everything we hoped it would be, and more.
Our prior high-water mark for monthly unique visitors was March 2009, during which 1.6 million of you came to the site at some point from the first through the 31st.
For the 31 days of July 2009, that number jumped to 2.38 million, with 17.5 million total page views.
Now that camps are open and the season is approaching, it’s only going to get better.
Hopefully, the NBC servers are ready.
Meanwhile, we’ve continued to do things the way we’ve always done them, with no interference or pressure or suggestions (OK, there have been a couple of suggestions, but they’ve been helpful suggestions) from NBC.
So thanks again to everyone at NBC who has assisted and supported us so far. It’s been a great ride, and we look forward to more of the same.
Florio, thanks for keeping the site real. I was worried that this thing would succumb to the pressures of the big marketing department at NBC, but you’ve managed to keep the guys with the fancy suits out of the great thing that you yourself created. Good job and thanks again.
The NBC peacock wants you to put back the ratings system.
Congrats!! Does NBC withhold sex from you if you don’t buy her a gift?
“Meanwhile, we’ve continued to do things the way we’ve always done them”
Uh, except we can’t rate the comments.
I imagine NBC upgraded the hampster to a greyhound or something.
And I miss the rating system also.
Yeah, comments ratings.
But, I sure am glad those damn roll over live search ads are gone. Especially the Axe ones.
Yeah seriously….the comment ratings!
…and the follow up notifications via e-mail…
And fix whatever creates the problem of having to log in when commenting even though you’re allready logged in…that’s crazy annoying.
So thanks for all the work on the site, but before you begin to brag about how great it has become post NBC at least make it as good as it was pre…
I was hoping for some classier commenters after the move, but alas, it appears the same ol’ asshats followed you here.
Keep up the good work, Mr. Florio.

I personally don’t care about the comment rating system (I mean, really, it’s your opinion. Do you really care what others think?) but a way to follow the comments would be great. E-mailed notifications, RSS notifications, whatever, just a way to follow them would be very much appreciated.
ratings….please.
Now that you’ve gone a month without getting fired by NBC, perhaps they like you enough to help fix the login/logout problem. At least tell us when we aren’t logged in instead of lying to us.
Bring back TurdWatch! “Police Blotter” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
Yeah, bring back the ratings system. and while you’re at it I second the login/logout problem. I take the time to write a post only to be told I have to log in. Why should I have to when I never logged out? I call shenanigans.
How about NBC gives people the ability to review pages other than the first page on the mobile version for pft. People with Blackberries (or other smart phones) may not be constantly refreshing to see the latest news……
Florio, GOD wants you to put back the rating system! It’s in the New Testament, somewhere near the back.
A FAST way to get around the login/logout problem, if you’ve typed a comment that can’t be sent, is to use the back arrow once at the upper left of the screen to get back to your comment. Minimize this screen and open up a separate window of your web browser, Mozilla Firefox for example, and go to PFT and login there. You’ll be logged in again, and your post will still be at the prior location ready to send. Takes 30 seconds max.
The deal with NBC is not the only thing that is “is in the can” on this site.
