The New York Giants realize they can't replace receiver Plaxico Burress with one player.
So they're trying to do it with two players -- Hakeem Nicks and Ramses Barden.
Both are now under contract.
Per a league source, the Giants have worked out a contract with the 29th overall pick in the 2009 draft, agreeing to terms with Nicks.
Per a league source, it's five-year, $12.5 million contract.

I bet Hakeem Nicks runs a better route than Plax.
Tough negotiations, but after agreeing to the stipulation that he must always leave his gun at home when going to NYC, Nicks signed the deal.
This kid has stud written all over him...........IMO, he will be the best WR out of this class..............
Championship!
Hakeem Nicks should put up awesome numbers for years to come.
Hakeem is going to open eyes this season. Guaranteed! He will put up impressive numbers his first year and will be the #1 receiver for this organization the next ten years. He runs awesome routes, gets great seperation and catches everything thrown his way. In Jerry We Trust!!
having a #1 receiver is not a necessity in the NFL as long as you have a solid corps of #2-3 receivers.
Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks, Dominick Hixon are solid #2/3 receivers.
Add in Barden as a red zone threat, Kevin Boss' development and thier running attack and you have a solid offense to go with their SCARY defense. Sounds like a championship formula to me!
I'm sure that the Giants receiving corps will be just fine. Hicks and Barden will contribute. They both reportedly have good work ethics and excellent talent. Expect rookie mistakes. Smith and Hixon are solid and given starting roles should do fine. Still puzzled at why we lose trouble(Buress) and are in trouble and cowgirls lose trouble(T.O.) and they are a better team.
why is this tagged Baltimore Ravens? whats going on here. Is Plax coming to Bmore??
