AFC West training camp one-liners

Champ Bailey was back at practice Saturday after failing his initial conditioning test.

WR Brandon Marshall and safety Josh Barrett have been mixing it up in one-on-one tackling drills.

Broncos FB Peyton Hillis bulldozed linebacker Tim Crowder at practice; “It hurts me to see a guy laying there. It
just breaks my heart,” Hillis said.

Josh McDaniels sounds high on Hillis:  “[He is] versatile and creates some matchup problems for defenses.”

Attempting to set the tone at Chiefs camp, new coach Todd Haley held five starters out of practice Saturday for failing their conditioning tests.

The Kansas City Star takes an up-close look at 2009 Hall of Fame inductee Derrick Thomas, who averaged 11.5 sacks per season over 11 years.

Third overall pick Tyson Jackson is officially a holdout for the Chiefs.

Asked if the Chiefs signed former Bear Mike Brown to start, Haley replied, “Every spot is open.”

Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson intends to prove that he isn’t done at age 30, despite rushing for a career-low 1,110 yards last season.

Jacques Cesaire has the early edge on Ryon Bingham to replace Igor Olshansky as the Chargers’ left defensive end.

Chargers linebacker Shaun Phillips plans to haze first-round pick Larry English, who is out to take Phillips’ starting job.  [Editor's note:  Phillips probably would let English slide if the rookie would simply hook the veteran up with the Erin Andrews video.]

The Bodog Sports Book loves the Chargers this year, giving them 7:1 odds to win the AFC and 12:1 odds to win Super Bowl XLIV.

It’s still very early, but Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell has improved following disastrous showings at spring minicamps.

Raiders return ace Johnnie Lee Higgins says he’s got a better idea of what to do entering his third NFL season.

Chaz Schilens is on his way to becoming Oakland’s No. 1 receiver.

Darrius Heyward-Bey has been doing a Troy Williamson impression on the practice field so far.

Convenient for you to use 3 day old news. Why don’t you check out this article written last night: Darrius Heyward-Bay ran a post-corner route to a cone placed 25 yards downfield on the sideline, caught the ball over his shoulder and tapped both feet inbounds. He’s the only top 3 WR to even be in camp right now and he’s working his butt and learning and as much as possible. He’s made some nice grabs in practice too something Troy Williamson failed to do in either practice or in games.

Typical Florio! never let the truth get in the way of a good line.
1.) That was four days ago..!
2.) That was one hour after signing his contract he came onto the field and with no warm-ups went for a 35 yard pass off of a poorly thrown ball by Charlie Fry.!
3.) He has been just fine since then.!
    4.) Florio your and idiot..!

I think that we as human beings have no right
to judge another, instead we are to FORGIVE. If
you don’t forgive you WILL NOT be FORGIVEN. Vick has done his time. I have been a Raider fan since 1968 and will always be.
If Michael Vick can be an asset to the Raiders
they SHOULD sign him. I certainly wouldn’t
let people personal hate hinder my team, and
for you raider fans that say you would dump the
team if Vick came aboard, YEAH RIGHT!
