Four minutes to go in the SuperBowl. The 18-0 Pats just scored a td to go up by 4. What does Eli do? He leads the greatest drive in football history and leads the Giants to a championship. How many other qbs would have gotten away from the three guys draped all over him like Eli did? Bottom line is that Eli is better than 95% of qbs in the league. Better than Ben, better than Rivers, better than McNabb, Rodgers, Palmer, Warner, Cutler and any other guy not named Peyton, Drew, or Tom. As a Giants fan I am thrilled that he will be our qb for the next seven years. GO BIG BLUE!

Hey, if the Eagles don’t win the Superbowl but go deep into the playoffs again, I WILL be happy. Not as happy as if they win it all, but doing better than 30 other teams in the league who don’t make it to the Championship Game? Hell yes.
Although the Superbowl is the ultimate goal, I like watching football. And I got to watch my team play 2 more games than the Giants in 2009 (due to the wild card game). In 2009, both of our teams came away with the same amount of Superbowl rings.
I’d say in that comparison for 2008 – Eagles > Giants. In 2007, Giants > Eagles and everyone else in the league – but unless someone invents a time machine (which Vox and the Cowboys fans would love, since they could go back to the mid-90′s where they’re stuck in anyway) we’re headed into 2009.
But I forgot, why bother watching the football season if your team isn’t going to win the Superbowl?

Here’s news for you, schmucks… in 2008? McNabb and the Eagles made Sheli and the VaGiants look like crap. Beat them twice, definitively, in their own house – the only time in the history of the team that they were owned at the Meadowlands twice in one season.
Look for a repeat in 2009, since Eli doesn’t have Plaxico to catch his wild balls and keep 8 out of the box anymore. Oh wait, but what about Ramses Barden – hahahahaha!

All I hear is…blah blah blah, I pay attnetion to stats not results, blah blah blah.
Get over it!! None of you are ever going to convince Giant fans that Eli is not good for our future.
Eli pretty much got us to the Super Bowl, the Dline may have won the game for us, but Eli had like 9 TD’s and 2 ints on the road to the Super Bowl, and this included a game that was played in negative degree weather in Green Bay, beating the division winner at Dallas, and taking out a defensive team in Tampa.
Then we go on to beat the supposed best team ever in football.
Lets move on to the next year…he throws 22 TD’s and only 10 ints, has a completion ratio over 60% and his team goes 12-4, picked to be the best team in football for most of the season, goes to the pro bowl yet he still is not a top 10-15 QB.
How many QB’s go to the pro bowl again?
So it’s Eli’s fault that our no. 1 receiver shot himself and screwed up the entire Offensive playbook. It’s his fault that our other receivers were unable to step up to the plate and dropped sure TD passes that would have won us games agaisnt division rivals?
C’mon…your arguments are purely based on your hatred/jealousy of the Giants, not Eli.
Deal with the fact that your team is garbage and has let you down for years. Do you want us Giant fans to apologize for our teams recent success?
Let me be the first…
We are soooo sorry that you can’t experience what we have, and have only had to deal with constant let downs and disappointment. I wish there was something I could do….

Big money! That seems like a lot of money for a professional athlete in the NFL however, NFL players take a lot risk on a weekly basis throughout the season. Eli is selling tickets, jersey’s etc, so why wouldn’t he get a piece of the pie? No one comments on TIger Woods (he gets paid to just show up to tournaments – not even win) or Michael Jordan, they to benefited financially for their talents both on a team and league level.
I must admit though, I enjoyed watching Michael Jordan – pure entertainment! As for Eli, good for you!

Not to mention, eli also had the luxury of playing with shockey and tiki for several years of his career. 2 of the most selfish athletes in sports history. Shockey in a huddle made T.O. look like a class act. He is responsible for at least 11 picks or more. He doesnt know a hot route, he cant pick up a blitz and ran his own patterns, throws where shocking should have been, but no, this dope is running 22 yards upfield with his back turned.

jkorn1818 , You say Ben hides behind his defense, but Eli doesn’t? You must have missed the last 2 Superbowls. Pitt’s D forgot to show up in the second half of the game, and Ben had to pick the entire team up and carry them on his back to win that game. And the only running play on the last drive, was Ben. The Giants D held the most powerful offense the League has ever seen to 14 points. Eli made a Houdini move at the end, which was nice, the td pass to Plax was routine. I’m not trying to discredit Eli, but his D was amazing in that Superbowl. As a Steeler fan, I feel for Giant fans right now, in regards to the haters. Ben is always getting hated on, just like Eli. All the haters, except Colts and Patriot fans are just jealous because they have no rings. And that is what matters most in any sport.

You amuse me…funny how you say that Eli was awesome on the road to XLII (which I totally agree with, afterall there’s the same misconception about Ben, that it’s all defense & running game), yet you knock Ben for doing the same on the road to XL (don’t forget, it was Ben’s Steelers, not Eli’s Giants, that were the first to win 3 playoff games on the road & the Super Bowl), it was because of him that the Steelers even got to the Super Bowl that year & don’t forget that his performance in SBXLIII not only made up for his performance in SBXL, but was every bit as prolific as Eli’s.
Btw, there’s no comparison when it comes to winning…Ben has shattered the record for wins in the first 5 seasons of an NFL career with 59 & 19 (over 30%) of those were engineered via 4th qtr. comeback…Ben’s career winning pct. is 2nd only to ShadyBrady among active QB’s & is well over .700!

Zeke — the Samuel interception would have been an incredible catch. Look at the tape again.
Korn — Kannel was a very promising qb completely destroyed by a lousy o-line.
Eli’s last game was a bad one v Iggles in the wind. He had better remember that one and improve.
The Giants should have gone all the way last year. It was not Plax. It was Eli who cost them.
Defense — with Pierce pursing the back who has just faked him out or the receiver who has been wide open in his zone — is not as solid as people think. Bring back Sam Huff!

It’s incredible that people still doubt this guy. 22 TD, 10 INT last year, after a Super Bowl run the previous year. 4 years as a starter, 4 years in the playoffs. Us G-men fans arent rewarding him for what he did then, he is being rewarded because he has the capability of doing that again, and again, and again.
