When “Doctor’s Without Borders”, an organization dedicated to providing free health care to third world nations, realizes it doesn’t have to leave the good ol’ US of A because of the limited access to health care, you have to ask yourself if that is really what your forefathers intended.
I have nothing against Americans at all. A lot of hockey players smoke weed because its legal in Canada.
Half the teams being Canadian then most pot smoking hockey players wouldn’t be doing anything worse than having a beer as far as the laws in their country are perceived
I think is a better explanation as to why they don’t have a “KNOWN: problem with pot smoking in Hockey.

Parker, 32, was a passenger in a van driven by offensive guard Todd Herremans when it was pulled over at 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Route 378 and North Mountain Drive in Bethlehem, police said.
Two local women, ages 21 and 22, also were in the vehicle, police said.
The team has a 1 a.m. curfew.
During the stop, police said they noticed a “small amount of marijuana” in the vehicle.
“Mr. Parker was in possession of the marijuana and . . . admitted to the officers that it was his,” said Lower Saucon Township Police Chief Guy Lesser.
He said Herremans, who was cited for making an illegal left turn and driving without headlights, also was cooperative with the three officers involved in the traffic stop.
Herremans took a breathalyzer test and registered an alcohol blood level of .05, below the legal limit of 0.08., police said.
Parker, of Medford, N.J., was released about 5:30 a.m. on $1,000 bail after a hearing.
He had the morning off from practice as a player over 30 and could not be reached for comment.

I think the bigger reason is a lot more political than that (the only thing politicians care about is getting re-elected, and being pro-pot is not yet a popular stance with the electorate), but I have no doubt the point you make is one of the reasons law enforcement so strongly opposes legalization.

You pieces of waste that bitch and moan that Marijuana is illegal and therefore regardless of its harmless effects on the human body (seriously, you want a drug that damages the brain and literally every cell of you body, try alcohol) we should ruin the lives of anyone who touches it. It can also be done safely, most speed limits are comically low (or set for people who have the reaction time of, well, an old person.) For a cop to say the smell marijuana (mind you I dont it has been reported that he did) takes no proof and there is no residual proof. It is merely done to see what they can find. Every time I see a drug related posting, I await with baited breath the always amusing sermon from the infamous Bob Nelson. This may be an all time classic:
“He’s a criminal marijuanna smoker damaging his body and brain with chemicals.
He also had contact with organized crime drug rings and helped finace their operations.”
Yes, there are still people in America who feel this way. And it’s people like Bob Nelson who are responsible for billions of wasted dollars and thousands of wasted lives due to this unconstitutional drug war we continue to fight.
