T-Jack is back at practice

Tarvaris Jackson said Tuesday he didn’t know when he’d return to practice, but it turns out he didn’t have to wait much longer.

T-Jack was back behind center for the Vikings at practice Wednesday.

According to the beat writers of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, who have Vikings fans very well covered on Twitter, Jackson was “moving well” and participated in a portion of the team drills, although he was “eased into” practice by sitting out some portions.

Players often say that training camp plays tricks on their mind.  Two days can feel like two weeks, and they lose track of when the weekend arrives.

Apparently, that can happen for lowly bloggers as well.  It sure feels like Jackson’s injury occurred a lot longer ago than Saturday.

Jackson’s four days off may put him behind in his battle with Sage Rosenfels, but he has time to catch up, especially during the preseason.

That’s assuming coach Brad Childress hasn’t already made up his mind who he prefers.

he played like shite against the eagles in the playoffs last year. Bench him he is worthless to me. Put in someone who can beat the eagles.

I still think they should either try to convince Favre to come or go after Vick

I for one am glad he is back in camp. I know a lot of you are not happy with his play but I would much rather have him in camp and provide a competition for Sage Rosenfels rather than have Sage just assume he has it in the bag and not work as hard.

  5. govikings27 says: Aug 5, 2009 12:24 PM

He did have abad game against the eagles in the playoffs, but he was more than solid down the stretch of the regular season. He has a lot of upside, and possibly can have a breakout season this year.
    GO VIKES!

  6. CJR says: Aug 5, 2009 12:24 PM

Give him a break!! Before that he looked like a pro-bowl quarterback. I was surprised at how well he played before the eagles game. If you think Sage is better you are on Magic Mushrooms man!!!!!!!

Funny part is this guy managed to have a 95 qb rating in 9 games last year. Yet EVERYONE knows he sucks ass…

    Damn.
Come on Vikings, save your season… somebody roll up on his leg again. Please.

I’m sick of reading about these losers. I’m going to start throwing this afternoon and so I should be in camp in a week or 2.

  12. DarthPirate says: Aug 5, 2009 1:06 PM

He’s the best QB on their roster. Rosenfelds is a good backup, but damn he makes bad turnovers.
Unfortunatley for the Texans, Schaub and Rosenfelds are very close in ability.

  14. jusford says: Aug 5, 2009 1:15 PM

It’s a conspiricy. The trainers have rushed him back so he does more damage or is never fully recovered.
And when did Greg Rosenthal become such a comidian stating:
“That’s assuming that Brad Childress hasn’t already made up his mind who he prefers.
    Childress making up his mind?

Say what you want but T-Jack has more talent than copter-boy and JDB combined. We’ll be just fine with T-Jack, give him the benifit of the doubt and he’ll surprise the h*ll out of you this year.
Also, if we (the Vikings) sign Micheal “I can’t throw a football for sh*t” Vick, I will sell my season tickets…at a discount.

  16. JRubb says: Aug 5, 2009 1:21 PM

I am so sick of the negative fking vikings fans. TJack had a 95.4 passing rating in his 9 games. 9 tds and 2 ints. HE WAS RANKED 4TH IN THE NFL IN PASSER RATING. You wanna-be fans dont know sh!t about the NFL. Keep sucking sages d!ck. I hope he starts just to shut you haters up and then after that, you can beg for TJack back when sage throws 2 ints a game.

I’m a vikings fan have always been…to the people that comes to Jackson defense using the whole “Down the stretch, he was good” argument…you are obviously thinkng about the Cardinals game (against a team a team that was tanking it at the end of the season last year), you obviously don’t remember how terrible a game he had against the falcons…and the reg. season finale against a Giants team resting for the playoffs, that still required AP to put up monster numbers….I’m officially done with him, I’m from B’ham watched him play against garbage teams in college and thought he really could be good but alas, I was wrong. He is a poor man’s Tony romo

  19. RossyRoss says: Aug 5, 2009 1:43 PM

We GB fans love the fact Tjack is your QB. He suck! plain a simple. So does the color purple.

  20. Cyrus says: Aug 5, 2009 1:47 PM

and Jrubb…he has that passing rating because he had a monster game against the cardnials…did u even see what his completion percentage was…59.5 on 149 pass attempts…thats Terrible!!!Even Shaun Hill has a better percentage!

  21. JRubb says: Aug 5, 2009 2:08 PM

ill take a 59.5 cmp% to a 66.7% when you throw 10 interceptions in 6 games. He single handedly lost the game against the colts last year. Im not trying to say TJack is a god. Im saying he’s better than sage. Hands down, easy.

Terrible games? What were you watching?
He had one bad fumble in the Atlanta game, but that was the same game NOBODY (including AP) could hold onto the ball. Outside of that, he actually played pretty good.
New York game he threw a pick but still played well enough to win us the division. Your blind hatred is amusing.

First, thanks for clarifying that you were talking about the Queens. There’s NO OTHER WAY we would have known that otherwise–definitely not through a gay obnoxious display name or anything like that.
As for selling the tickets–yeah. Good luck with that. With or without Vick, maybe you can get a nickel and some d!ckhole lint for them on Craig’s List or something.

    rc,
Reminder: NY game was against 2nd/3rd stringers.
The real Giants players were all busy eating Big League Chew and yucking it up on the sidelines.

  26. Hurricane says: Aug 5, 2009 4:10 PM

He may have had a very good passer rating but have you actually seen him play?
In TC and when the Vikings have a lead he plays very well. But when he is under pressure and has to perform he crumbles.
He’s got terrific athletic ability but not the mental toughness, and that is why he makes those costly mistakes when the game is on the line.
The T-Jack experiment should be over and should be considered an utter failure.

Tjack or sage…….. WE’RE SCREWED!!!!!!!!! Farve was the answer!!! I suppose all of you who didnn’t want farve because he was with the packers all those years, are the same ones who wouldn’t vote for obama because he was black. Of course you wouldn’t admit it, but you know who you are. With farve they would have had a better chance at going to the superbowl, and now let me say again, WE’RE SCREWED!!!!!

  29. JimmySmith says: Aug 5, 2009 4:57 PM

“That’s assuming coach Brad Childress hasn’t already made up his mind”
That’s assuming Childress has a mind, a leap of faith for anyone who has spent five minutes watching this guy babble on TV. Even worse is T Jack Off himself, I just saw him being interviewed and can only say, his high school English teacher must be so proud. And he is the face of the Viking franchise, a functionally illiterate nitwit with the verbal langauge skills of your average 4th grader, a full grade higher than your average Viking fan.

I agree, not voting for him just because he was black would be extremely ignorant, because it would ignore the 8,473 other reasons NOT to vote for him (which, clearly, so many people did).
But now, as both a Viking fan AND as an American, you are 100000% correct in saying, and saying again:
    WE’RE SCREWED!!!!!!
Favre, though, would not only save the Vikings, but save our media. And therefore, our country.

  31. defensiveplaymaker says: Aug 5, 2009 5:09 PM

As long as T-Joke is our starting qb, this team will never win the super bowl. It’s really sad that the Vikings are so talented in most other areas but qb is glaring hole they have. Having T-Joke as qb lets defenses stack more defenders in the box and makes it harder for AP to find wholes to run through. If the Vikings quickly get a good qb they could make a serious run at the super bowl. It could be a waste of talent for possibly one of the most talented running backs in NFL history. It could be Barry Sanders syndrome. It was sad to watch Sanders be stuck on bad Detroit teams all those years and never win a super bowl. He was great though. Imagine if Sanders would have been on the Cowboys instead of E. Smith!

Viking fans are crying for someone that can beat the Eagles?
Hell… the Bears have beaten the Eagles the last two years and that was with Brian Griese, Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton at QB.
Maybe you should worry about beating the Bears since they do play in your division idiots.

Where did you see him ranked 4th in passer rating? I pulled up last season’s stats and see Drew Brees at #4. Rodgers at #6, Cutler at #16, Orton at #25, Frerotte at #28. No Tarvaris Jackson on the list.

brett favre and obama have nothing to do with each other, don’t inject politics in where it doesn’t belong…and you obviously didn’t see how favre ended his season in NY
i wish you idiots would stop saying “favre” and “superbowl” in the same sentence…it’s people like you that give all the viking haters so much ammunition…also please do society a favor and don’t have children
