For all the racist yacking and history re-writing on this post, the one that cracks me up most is “empty” who says “texas isnt the home of inbreeding. that is up north where dumbasses fight in wars that dont involve them.”

This is why Vince Young , Michael Vick, Akili Smith and throw in Mark Lienart and any other first round QB sucks is because they do not appreciate the game enough to put in the mental work required beyond the physical … Guess what you in the NFL everyone else is stronger and faster the same if not more as you are mr. high pick QB. As an African American it really pisses me off when they young talent from college goes to waste in the NFL. The young brash put on attitude of toughness by the young African American athlete today sucks ass and yes being a hip hop music fan I can say it does come from their total misunderstanding of the hip hop culture. These cats havent been throught nothing but they want that fake ass street image and they are fake themselves. To say Mcnabb is a choke artist please U cant choke when u have noooo receivers. VY just sucks in general and runs his mouth so much that he has turned off his teammates and same thing for Mike Vick. Anyone who has watched falcon football during his time playing will tell you that there were too many dropped passes. I say that to say hmmmmmm there was a reason for that to me that was more locker room based than talent of the recievers there. To bad for him either way he cant QB his way out of a paper bag for the same reasons ..No film study which leads to a non mental understanding of the position and no accountability taking for not learning the mental aspect or responsibility as well for that matter. Young blacks QB’s and really all young QB should just shut the hell up and be humble and fully learn your craft .. The parties and females arent going anywhere so learn your trade first dipwads gees .. OUT …..

Since when does the time period matter when you have guys that are teaching their kids the exact same thing that we are trying to get away from. Because of the history of America, it will always be about race- that is just something we have to stop hiding from. As long as there are Rush Limbaughs and Sean Hannitys and Bill Oreillys and Glen Becks, it will always be about race. Sure, someone is gonna mention Jesse and Al Sharpton and Jeremiah Wright but we wouldn’t need them if the playing field was level from the break…unfortunately, it wasn’t and it still isn’t.

You know, I could get really idiotic on you here, but let me just school you instead. Sure, they all had a raw deal but guess what, they came here by choice, not by force.
This is not even about the lack of starting black qbs in the league. You are trying to shift the argument. This is about Vince Young saying that he wants to be or will be the next Black QB to win the SB. And about how his statements are being taken out of context and perceived to be racist. That is not a racist statement. The NFL has done an excellent job of addressing the disparity between black and white qbs as well as in the area of coaching.
In the end, short-sighted, narrowminded folks will try to pull the race card and say that this is a double standard. But those who know history and know the history of black people in this country will see this as nothing more than a young black man taking pride in his race and being confident in his abilities. End of story.

If they were racist, you would also be calling any newsworthy event involving a first for some race, racist. Aside from that, the way you put everything else is idiotic, while some things are true you make them seem nonsensical with blanket generalizations and actually portray yourself to be somewhat of a racist (even if you call yourself Tiger). Sit back and look at things and see why they are the way they are. You can’t fully understand something until you live it, and as much as I hate to say it, it’s not easy being black. Here is the deal though, although Doug Williams (a great QB black or not!) was the first black starting QB he was not the first black QB to be on a SB roster. That would be Joe Gilliam (Steelers x2). The list of black QB’s to win SB rings is interesting. They are Tony Bans (Ravens), Shawn King (Bucs), Rohan Davey (Pats), Charlie Batch (Steelers x2), Anthony Wright (Giants), Byron Leftwich (Steelers), and Dennis Dixon (Steelers).
I don’t get Vince Young. Playing QB is nothing about race anymore. This is America in the 21st Century. As a veteran I wonder if VY would be able to get a decent enough score on the ASVAB test to be able to enlist in the military.
I think he will end up going down as a huge bust and I don’t care whether he is black or not. He was passed over in the draft for a reason.
VY please just shut up, ride the bench, play out the contract, and go away to be the subject of draft bust documentaries.

The only reason I signed up for this was to comment on the idiots who calls Vince’s comments racist. While it is a little far fetched for him to think he is going to win a Super Bowl and go to the HOF it is okay to set your goals high.
It means a lot for a black quarterback to say that he is going to win the Super Bowl because it would be a great accomplishment. If you hadn’t noticed there’s only one that won as a starter.
For all you real racists out there, there is WET (White Entertainment Television) it’s called every other channel except BET. There is White History Month. It’s called all the months of the year. You are so short sided and narrow minded that you probably think that a white invented the stop light or performed the first open heart surgery. Maybe you think Christopher Columbus discovered America. There wouldn’t be a storm because they have no need to quantify their position. The league has probably 90% white qbs so why would Drew Brees or any other white qb have to make that a point of fact- its obvious. Not to mention, in the 189 years of professional football, much of that was spent with blacks not even being able to play the position.
