Great news for the Falcons. With white they have one of the best offensives in the NFC. With out white they are probably just above average.
Ryan, Turner, Gonzalez, Jenkins, Norwood, Finneran…and now White. That is a potent group of skill players.
They had a nice OL in 2008 and they have that good FB.
They will probably need to score 25+ points a game to get a winning season.

You got to play on both sides of the ball. I think you win the division, by default, but no Super Bowl for you.
And the Saints very well could push you for the division.

I don’t care if Roddy makes 1 catch for 3 yards all season – as long as The Falcons win the Super Bowl.
All you people talking about Roddy’s number declining, picture this:
Matt Ryan behind center (and behind a VERY good offensive line),
Michael Turner in the backfield with Ovie Mughelli (for those of you who don’t know who he is-he’s easily a top 5 FB in the league),
Tony Gozalez at TE (I’ll let that one speak for itself),
Michael Jenkins and Roddy wideouts,
…I can hear the theme song from COPS in the background….WHATCHA GONNA DO?!?!?!?
*Of course Roddy’s numbers will decline when our TE’s combined for 19 catches last year and Tony G had 96 by himself! DUH…

Smart Move all around.
Those free agent signings were a joke and couldn’t hold water being a #1 receiver. They are at best, complimentary pieces.
Second, they looked at the tapes of last year and noticed that there were some times where Matt Ryan just painted the receiver with the ball… but there were more times that White dug out a potential interception. If those same balls were thrown to someone else, they would have been Pick 6.
But the most important thing is that Ryan and White are a tandem. Ryan needs to see White out there to feel comfortable.

Yes, we can all probably agree that Jimmy is a douche bag extraordinaire, however, I do believe that White is going to experience a decline in numbers due to teams scouting Ryan. Jimmy’s comments are indicative of a little man with little self esteem though.

White is smart. Cashing in on last season was a smart move. Odds are Ryan will have a sophomore slump as the league has a full season of tape and has scouted him. White’s numbers are gonna go down and he knows it and thats why he held out now. Smart move.
